ok so just wondering whats the diff my car just has a overhead dome and two map lights but i keep seeing these big overhead domes is my car suppose to have one of those or could i install one on mine cz i think it looks cool juist wondering

The overhead was an option (DK6 from 84-87). The install is simple, though in your 82, you'll probably have to drill the mounting holes. Should you purchase one, make sure that it comes with ALL parts. If not, you'll spend a load of time, energy and money attempting to collect them all. Check the following links:

JamesC is the guy to ask about Overhead consoles, and hes right from 84-92 the holes are there for mounting for sure, 82-83 im not sure because ive never taken the headliner out of one or cut holes to find out

if your 82 is a hardtop(it looks like it in your avatar) i have a Complete overhead console in pretty good condition for hardtop cars, it comes with working "CAMARO" flashlight, the only thing i do not have are the mounting screws(you can find them on Ebay constantly for about 6-8 bucks) and wiring Pigtail(but i didnt use the pigtail to install mine i just used electrical connectors to connect all the wires and it works fine)
