Does anyone know where I can find an air hose diagram and electrical connection schematic for leather power lumbar seats from a 94 Firebird?

It appears that the drivers seat contains the pump that supplies air to both seats correct? So 1 air hose connects the 2 together? Electrically there are 4 connections, 2 more than the typical switched 12V and ground I was expecting. What purpose do the other 2 serve? Thanks

The first schematic is of the lumbar support.
I'm not sure what you mean by 4 connections... Are you talking about pins on a connector? Or 4 individual connectors? I don't have 4th gen seats so I really have no idea.
I do have a 98 Camaro/Firebird Service Manual though and according to it the lumbar pump, that provides the air for both seats, is under the passenger seat.

When I did mine I just matched color to color in the wiring on each seat. IIRC the orange is + and the black is ground. All the other wires just connect to each other. The air hose connects from the driver seat to the passenger seat.

Turns out the pump IS under the drivers seat. So do I have some bastard seats or did the pump switch sides at some point? See the controls on the left side of the seat?:



Also, how can I connect to that air supply hose? It has some kind of quick connect. Since the hoses connected to the seat are just loosely pressed onto a nipple, can I just cut that quick connect and just use some kind of union?

I wonder if the seats are slightly different for 98+

Are you against just purchasing the harness/hose that goes between the two seats?

Looking at the picture I don't know how you would connect the passenger side up as it appears the harness may have both ends as male quick-disconnects?

Well the drivers air hose is a quick connect, but the passengers isn't. Look at the air inlet on the drivers and you'll see where the air inlet on the passenger is. It's the last nipple on the right if you're looking at the passenger pic. No quick connect, yet the hose in the ebay auction has quick connects on both.....hmmmmm

I REALLY don't want to buy that off ebay. The guy I bought the seats from is being a dick and not getting back to me even though he said I could have the harness. It's my fault for not getting it off the car when I purchased the seats from him, but all he has to go is tell me when to be there and I'll drive an hour each way to pick this stuff up!

Thanks for that auction though, it's a final option though since this system is very simple and I think I can make it work.

Also, why are there 2 hoses between the seats? I can only see 1 hose not 2.....??

The pics in 91banditt2's link are showing a different setup underneath... They look like the same setup shown in my 98 service manual.

rob I think you're missing about a foot of tubing that should be connected to your passenger seat and has a female quick disconnect. That'd allow you to hook up to the wiring/hose harness that you don't have...

Since you said wiring isn't an issue. Your best bet may be to just go purchase some tubing and run it between the two seats.

And that's exactly what I'll do..........but that's only 1 hose connection between the 2 seats. Where is the other one? What's it for/where does it go?! I don't even see where it could be connected to my seats. So is there only 1 hose connection between my 2 seats? The link shows 2 hoses not just 1....hmmmmm

As far as I can see the one connection between seats would be from the drivers seat here (circled in red):

There is only 1 hose connection between the 2 seats. I have the same seats from a 95 TransAm and when I pulled the seat from the car in the JY, there was only 1 hose attached to each seat. I didn't realize the hose connected the 2 seats together at the time as it runs under the carpet, so I just cut it off under each seat. I didn't know what the hose was for at the time.

The air pump did change sides, I'm not sure which year though. My air pump is under the driver's seat though.
