What material did you use for your headliner

Calling out the guys with the tricked out interiors. When you redid your interiors, what did you use to recover the headliner? I'm thinking about getting an extra couple yards of seat vinyl. Too much for a headliner?

I did mine with a leather looking vinyl, easy to work with. But you have to get really light weight. I used 90 3M because i wanted it to stick really well. I covered a good headliner. It turned out good but i am afraid to start tearing things apart. Everything in my car is in really great shape. But when i do tear it apart i will cover the one that is in it and decide which one looks best! Then thats the one i will use. Watch a few youtube videos, beleive me they make it look easy. Its harder then it looks.

Re: What material did you use for your headliner

I went to a local fabric store, I believe "Jo-Ann's", and they sell dedicated auto headliner material. It's just like the OEM stuff with the foam on the back. The place I went had the 3M aerosol spray glue for the foam right near by. I ended up with enough to recover the headliner, the sail panels, and the glue for under $40. I think the glue itself was $10 a can, or close to it.

Re: What material did you use for your headliner

I'll be ordering new doors and panels soon. The p.o. Went through and recovered the headliner and sail panels. I'm not too positive that it'll match the new materials. I guess we will wait and see.

I've covered lots of interior parts before. If I go that route, I'll take lots of pics!
