How to install LS1/Autometer Speedo.

I resently installed a Autometer speedo into my 3rd gen LS1 swap. I just wanted to post how it was done if anyone ran into any confusion on the install. I was using the carbon fiber series ( product id (4789 , 3-3/8 ", 160mph, push button calibration, 500-400,000 ppm, )

First install speedo and wire up the power ground . Also the lighting bulb.

Next you will need to find the VSS high signal. on my 98 pcm it was the ( RED connector, PIN - 7, YELLOW, Vss high signal, ), splice into this wire, and simply run that to the SIG terminal on the back of the gage, and leave the VSS OUT on the back of the gage empty. To see if its working right, turn ignition on and the gage should pin out at half scale and go back to 0. You will need to then calibrate the gage, ; Hold trip/start car/release, it should then go to max scale , then go to a spot where you marked off 2 miles, stop at the start, push trip again/release , it should then go to half scale, drive the 2 miles, stop, push trip and release, the gage should go back down to 0 scale then. Drive off and it should be working . Hope this might help someone
