LT1 guys.....

What brand and type (platinum, regular, iridium, etc..) of sparkplugs do you use / recommend in your LT1?

I was running Delco Platinums, but know they are not the best, so I am wondering what everybody uses.

Car is N/A only with no N2O or boost. Ill post my sig for the engine and car details.

Using NGK TR-55 regular plugs at the moment...

I was running NGK TR6's in prep for nitrous, but I'm holding off on the juice for a while so I switched back to either Delco's or Autolite 103(?)'s I think.


Since you're not going to be running spray or boost, I would recommend a platinum plug. Stay away from the multiple electrode ones, just run a standard Delco platinum and you'll be good to go.

I would run delco platinum or the NGK's, plainum give you more miles before you have to change them

NGK TR-55's here, platinums are junk and not worth the price for them. The Delco plats are around 7 bucks a pop.

I ran Delco platinums in my 95 Impala, only used 2 sets with over 150,000 miles ....as the platinum wears slower than copper....you'll get better conductivity and spark overall from the copper plugs....TR-55's are the way to go.....just depends on how often you wanna change 'em........

my dad has run only platinum plugs in his '99 Silverado. Truck has 480k miles on it and he's barely on his 3rd set of plugs. Not worth the price?

I never ran anything other than TR55 in my 94, and it is what I plan onrunning again once I get the LT1 in the 86. It is not that hard to take an hour out of your day every 10k miles. Plus, they are only 1.75 a piece.

AFR recommends these as starting range for their heads...

Haven't fired the motor up since I am still putting it together so I don't have any real experience with these plugs, but it is the recommendation on the AFR site.
