ok, i picked up a set of i think bmr subframes awhile back, and was goin to install them, looks like now thanks to the hawks ls1 ypipe, i have no room for them, anyone got ideas? different subframe connectors? i don't really feel like changing my ypipe / tranny crossmember unless completely necessary.

I went with Spohn. They follow the rocker panels on each side. They dont go near the tranny tunnel or the exhaust. The fit was awesome.

I have SSM/kenny brown knock offs ( I knocked em off LOL ) but SSM if you can find them are very VERY nice connectors. They are boxed, tie into the rear suspension, and weld in all the way down the rockers and floors with no ground clearance lost or interference at all with c mem or anything for that matter.

Bringing this back up. Which one of BMR's SFC's are better for those of us that are doing LT's on thier LT1/LS1.

Re: subframe connetors for ls1 swap?

I wouldn't use BMR SFC's

I used them on my last build, and the fit isn't that great. They do not follow the rocker at all, and you can see them from outside the car. Yeah, its *that* bad. Plus the loss of ground clearance......

I would use Spohn, UMI, SSM, etc

I would avoid the BMR's........

I used Spohn in one car and UMI in the other. I assume you'll be running custom exhaust, so the exhaust interference I had with the Spohn's and the Hooker 2055HKR y-pipe wouldn't be a problem, and I'd recommend them for fit. The UMI's are okay, I like their saddle connection to the LCA bracket better than the Spohn single-side interface, but the UMI's don't fit as snug up to the floorpan as the Spohn do.

Re: subframe connetors for ls1 swap?

I have the Competition Engineering wel ins and they are great, out of the way for a full length setup with Y pipe. Priced right and pretty strong.
