Anyone else using a 4l60e(M30) have a long vacuum hose coming from it?
When I got my 4l60e(M30) it had a long vacuum hose coming from the top of it. I'm just wondering did anybody else using the 4l60e have the same long hose. If so what did you do with it? Did you leave it hanging or connect it to something?

I am 90% sure it is a vent line, I believe it is located on the top above the front pump area. Most automatics have the same thing, usually it is just a small tube about 2 in long about the same place, if the trans seriously overheats it uses that instead of blowing input or output shaft seals. The 4l60E is all electronic controlled, the only hook up besides the shift linkage is wire connections as I recall. Sounds like someone just put a hose on it so if it did vent it wouldn't undercoat the floorpan.

I have seen the vent hose that is over a foot in length, on cars, but I have seen them that long on 4WD vehicles before. It comes up the back of the firewall and loops over to prevent water from entering when they do some serious off roading. If it is in the way, shorten it.
