Could someone make a list of the prices to swap in a Ls1, not including the engine or computer, just the engine mounts and whatever else is needed to get it bolted into the car. Thanks

I did, but don't have it on this computer. Seems the "must have" list, in my case, was around $1600. That included rear end upgrades, speedometer drive box.
I'm quite interested too. I was thinking about buying a wrecked ls1 4th gen and swapping out everything. Ls1 and T56 and converting it to a manual gearbox. I haven't priced it out labor wise but as far as i can tell its less than 5k considering that was the mechanics price if i were to buy a tranny that wasn't meant for the car but was for the engine...so there would be alot of fabrication. I figure with this idea it'll be about 1500 give or take for a "good" wreck...and about the same for labor since its pretty much a bolt in. Yea I'm not gonna do it myself. I'm not gonna kid myself and pretend i know what im doing, Ill screw something up and hurt myself.
Not to mention its soooo gonna be worth it...nothing like a 6 speed in a car that was only made auto =). And the fun of an ls1.

Cut the hole for the shifter, the hole for the clutch master cylinder use an aftermarket transmission crossmember and motor mounts and that's pretty much it. As for wiring, around 8-12 wires to splice in and it's set and running. The only real big fabrication that would need to be done is a y-pipe for the exhaust.

$10k is about what you should figure if you aren't going to do the work yourself.
I havent priced everything down to the last nickel but the guy i took it too said about 5k parts included(brand trans new from jegs or someone) to put in a 3 speed manual transmission for the '81 350 pickup engine thats in the car now. And that was going to be ALOT of fabrication and modification. I can't imagine it being more for a almost bolt in. As for the price of the wreck, i might be off a little bit but i cant imagine it being that much. I could get a brand new crate motor for that. Ill be selling the 700r4 and the 350 thats in it after all this is put in too so that'll recoup some of my loses. Ill start checking the yards and see.
Where, what and how much did you do your LT1 and T56 swap? Klortho? Might give a good idea as too how much the LS1 could be. Ill call the guy monday and ask him for a ballparked quote as far as labor goes, and check some yards when i get some time.
Motor mounts = $0 - Fabricated myself
Trans crossmember - $0 - reused factory one
Manifolds - $0 - included with motor
Y-pipe - $100 for metal to make it
Intake - $90 - Filter, silicone bends, & connections
F-body Clamshell mounts - $40
Thats all i can think of to get the engine into the car.
The wiring harness was included in my $1500cdn motor, and i modified the harness to fit.
Other then that my costs were:
F-body Pan - $150
F-body ACC - $350
LS6 intake - $350
Pilot Spacer - $50
Fuel tank - $50
Misc Costs - $200
The swap hasnt been that expensive for me, the more you make yourself, the cheaper it will be.
This was back at G10(The Gathering in Atlanta)...I had asked either Hawks or F-BodyMotorsports, but I think it was Hawks and they told me $5400 turnkey into my car. This is stock LS1 with an automatic. Don't know if the prices have changed but that was much cheaper than I had expected.
it really depends on how close your car was to being ls1 compatible to begin with. If you already had an upgraded EFI fuel system, some suspension mods and a trans you wanted to use, odds are you're further ahead of the game than most.
My motor about 3 years ago cost me 2k for the long block, with no electrics. But it had some work done and a few goodies here and there.
my trans has ended up costing about 600 so far.
the fuel system so far is probably 250.
electrics has probably been about 400.
but to be fair, The fuel system would need to be redone no matter what motor i put in, and the trans as well. Alot of my money went to suspension and frame strengthening, which again, is necessary for any performance upgrade like this.
i'm not sure what else needs money because i havnt cranked mine over yet, but we'll see lol
