LS1 ECU and harness upgrade?

If I was to purchase a 98 LS1 with no ecu or harness can i get a 99 or new ecu and harness and just plug and play? or is their a lot of sensors that will need changed. I've been serching for hour and got nothing.

You can use a 99+ PCM and harness with no problems at all. I want to say that the coil packs are different.....but I haven't compared my 98 coil packs to a 99+

Coils for the 98 are all seperate whereas the 99+ are mounted together iirc. I had no clearance issues with my 98 coils since the mounting brackets are small. Others have used 6.0 truck coils to help with clearance.

edit: Oh yea, I used a 99+ harness and PCM on my 98 motor with no problems.
