drive by wire + cruise?

I've searched, but I can't seem to find anything helpfull.

Has anyone ran a drive by wire throttle body and have functioning cruise
control? And if so, how? I think I remember seeing where someone had done, but I can't find it.

I found a setup (pedal, wiring, and throttle body) for sale. I want to run drive by wire so I don't have to run the throttle cables and clean up the engine bay. I just want to make sure it will work with my set-up and have cruise before I buy it.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: drive by wire + cruise?

I would say if you use the cruise control module and wiring for a drive by wire setup it would work.

Re: drive by wire + cruise?

So, I'd need the f-body cruise control module and the DBW wiring, pedal, and TB? Or would I need the cruise control module from the same vehicle as the the DBW set-up? From that thread, it looks like I'll need to get a TAC (throttle actuator control) from speartech to make it work. The PCM controls the cruise, I just need to connect it to the throttle body....I think.

Re: drive by wire + cruise?

from that thread I would just ask speartech. I am too lazy to pull up the schematics but he would know and is very helpful

Re: drive by wire + cruise?

it depends on the ecm used like an f-body wont work since it cable and the gto that we used the cruse is in the bcm not the ecm so i think you need a vett ecm and other stuff spearthech did our harness and said our best option was an aftermarket crusie control and run the cable to the trottle pedel call spearthech and ask them

this was something we took into consideration after it was to late.
