LTX and LSXPutting LT1's, LS1's, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects, including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.

I am trying to gather the rest of the stuff i need for my lt1 swap, i want to run longtube headers, not shorties. I was wondering if these hooker long tubes were the correct ones for my application a 94 lt1 into a 85 iroc.
No, Hooker 2231's are for 4th gen f bodys, you have a thirdgen F body, headers are primarily made to fit the vehicle, the D ports of an LT1 make a little concern necessary mainly when looking at headers with smaller primaries, most of the 1 5/8 thirdgen headers dont properly cover the port, slp 1.75's and thirdgen hooker 1.75's will cover the port.
The thirdgen Hooker super comps are 2210's
Another option would be hedman 68469
However, I know that ground clearance is about non existent with the hooker long tubes, im not sure it is much better with the hedmans off the top of my head and in my opinion i would go with the ones i believe hawks sells which iirc are made by stainlessworks.

LT1 Swap PS Pressure Hose, braided stainless, crimp fit one end 90* for steering box other straight for pump, routes along K member below oil pan, with AN adapter fittings $95
check into Hawks Thirdgen Parts, they've got a set of stainless longtube headers made by Stainless Works. very nice headers, have the best ground clearance out of any longtube header, but they're pricey.

Thats kind of cool. About $200-300 more than hooker ceramic-coated longtubes but they'll last for a lot longer. How long have these been out? Never heard of them before. Ground clearance has whats always steered me away from longtubes but eventually I will need longtubes.
They have been out roughly a year. I thought about them but went with ceramic hedman longtubes instead. They went in ok, had to trim the drivers side a-arm mount and lift the engine up. The d-port version went on a ported head with no shrouding at all which was nice. I don't think they would clear ported ltx trickflows however.
Ground clearance with the hedmans and a drews xmember is better than my old edelbrock shorties, but the hedmans are 1 5/8 s, not 1 3/4 like the stainless works headers.
Still waiting on a tuned dyno number but the current with the hedmans is 409 rwhp, based on other LE2 setups there is perhaps a 5-10rwhp difference between the two sizes.
Texas is going forced induction though, so his gains will be more..
