questions...LT1 swap

I am hoping to do the LT1 swap in the near future, but have a couple more questions.

1) I have read that the 4l60e is the electric version of the 700r4. So does that mean I can put the shifter from a 3rd gen on it, or do I have to keep the 4th gen shifter? Because I still have a Hurst Dual Gate still in the box.

2) I want to drop in an aluminum radiator. Do I get one for a 3rd gen or a 4th gen?

3) Which elec dual fans do you recommend? Someone else on this board recommend the spal dual 11" on the link below....does anyone else have other suggestions?

Thanks
-JV

Re: questions...LT1 swap

1.)E means that the shifts are electonically controlled by the pcm. No more kickdown cable like the 700r4 has. All you need to do is reconnect the shifter cable that is under the car back to the 4l60e.

2.) If on a budget just re-use your 3rd gen. radiator. If I had to buy one I would get one for a 3rd gen.

3.)For the price of those fans I would just get a used set from a lt1 car or the dual setup for l98 cars. I got my dual l98 fans for $75.
