There have been a lot of discussions about using the 4th gen plastic tanks, so I won't repeat all that. I removed all of the stock '82 305 carb lines, and fabricated new from 3/8" aluminum tubing. I left the vapor recovery system installed and open, no controls.
Since I didn't have a fuel filter, I needed fittings. I got these "repair" fittings from Advance Auto.
I ran the supply and return lines in pretty much the stock location. The bracket for the pressure relief valve isn't needed anymore, so I just bent it up. Since the original return line was 5/16", the new 3/8" return line doesn't fit in the same clamps.
I spliced the lines to the ones coming off of the tank so the tank will be easier to remove if necessary.
The longer of the "repair" fittings was bent and cut, then spliced to the aluminum for the supply. The shorter one was cut and spliced to the "T" for the outlet and return. (Replaced fuzzy photo with one more in focus)

And finally, the run up to the engine compartment. I'll put a flare end on it, and have a braided line fabricated to go to the fuel rail.
Very similar to what I ran save for the tee after the filter for the return because I have a V6 tank and no regulator built in I used a Vette filter and the return comes off that instead. Otherwise pretty dang similar

I didn't mention it, but the long bends were done by hand. The tight turns were done with a tube bending spring over the tube and a simple tube bender. I tried a compound bender on the lines on the tank, but it wouldn't accommodate the spring and tended to collapse the tube. This went a lot better.
Long time since this was discussed, but I think I finally found what I was looking for in order to hook up the factory flexible line to the fuel rail to my new fuel supply line - a male Saginaw fitting. Saw several references to it, but no p/n.
It's Dorman (Motormite, Help, etc.) 800-155. 3/8" x 12".
Oh, yeah, where did I find it? In a tech post about pin-outs, of all things (well, the topic was hybrid LS1 swaps in general, but this was kind of an off-hand remark in that thread).
I got the PCM harness only, nothing else. I picked up a swap fuse/relay box, going to run new copper to the fuel pump from the box.
I still have wiring to figure out. The six (I think it's six) connectors to the chassis I still haven't see a pin-out. One of those is fuel pump on, I'm sure.
The 4th gen LS1 tank controls fuel pressure via a relief valve in the return line at the tank. When the pressure at the outlet exceeds the relief valve set point, fuel is returned to the tank. Simple and effective system.
The Vettes had the relief valve built into the filter. Does the same thing, but without the relief valve at the tank.
