Did you race anyone yet? Cause over in LS1tech some guy was talking about racing a blue camaro with an LS6 or something like that. Its in the the western forum
lol i heard bout that..
im pretty satisfied i just need a a really good tuner.
looks like i built a decent car so far.
im looking for suspension upgrades soon.
and a big brake upgrade in the future
Yeah you got to get that suspension upgrade to bring down that front end lol
i went with the big brake upgrade and i love it! So much better than our little 10" brakes lol. But you got to get those brakes as soon as you can to stop all that power.
Also, to index your steering wheel, all you have to do is take it loose at the knuckle right after the column sticks out passed the firewall, turn the steering wheel right side up and reattach.....
small updates... i hit 1000 miles.. this week not problems whats so ever.
i went to a local meet last sunday . had a good crowd..
finally found the fbody coupler. and put on the pro 5.0 shifter. 10x better than the gto shifter..
i need to align the steering wheel a bit.
hopefully i get some videos soon as well
im tyring to get into the readers rides for super chevy gm high tech or camaro performers.

Great car man. Nice work for sure. I've been researching new things to do to my car since I havent even looked at it in years, and I came across your car. Definately motivating to see your car. Any updates? Later
thanks guys
not too many updates. i haven't had any problems besides my steering gear going out.
but i am repainting my front clip and a new lip ..
i hope to start on a a.c set up i have the 4th gen ac vents underneath the 4th gen dash. .but i am actually starting from scratch on the engine bay. so if anyone has parts or experience send me some info . pictures. etc
hey great work on the car. I am getting close to having mine running. Where did you mount the ECU. I have a 4th gen dash as well (I liked the way yours looked so I basically copied your dash setup I am just trying to get everything wired on it) I am also using a 4th gen tank how did the not running the evap work out for you.
Don't take this as a nock/slam, but does the front of that hood have a flat edge or is it just the lower angle pics? looks like it's 3/8 inch or more thick. that would bug me. aside from that, i still love the car. i too am looking at getting so pro pics done soon.

evap system is connected.
i have to turn it on when i get the car tuned.
hopefully soon. gas mileage is okay. i have a exhaust flange gasket leak.. a mystery .. idk why it keeps blowing.
the hood does have a flat edge.. i kind left it like that for reason.. one because i was afraid of cutting it.. two it wouldn't match with the outer perimeter of the edge where the fenders meet. and it sits a lot better on my headlight covers.
other wise i do get people complimenting it in a bad or good way ..
i just like looking at the cowl induction
Man I like that car. Its fun going to shows isnt it? Your car looks 100x better than mine does on the outside...but that didnt stop my car from getting a ton of attention at the show I was at. I didnt expect it and was overwhelmed with questions. haha.
Lookin great!!

so this past week i was working on my dd set up heres the finished product
finished it up in about two days..
and i picked up a few ls1 ac parts yesterday
all i would need would be a 4th gen evap and 3rd gen heater box .
i have a lt1 heater box which i will use the front section and modify . very identical to the ls1 heater box..
Good luck with the a/c. I don't think I'm going to run a/c on mine, because I don't feel like notching the k-member, and the compressor on my car is shot so I can't use it with the retro brackets. If I end up changing my mind I'll have to just buy a new 3rd gen compressor and buy the brackets and everything.
Is your car a daily driver? If so, I definitly understand why you would want a/c in california. Mine gets driven ~2,000 miles a year so not having it will not bother me.
Are you running exhaust manifolds? It kind of looked like it in the pictures but it's hard to be certain. Are you saving up for the Hawks swap headers or thinking of just doing shorties?
thanks to ghetto cruiser i got a good understanding of the ac.
the hvac set up is pretty much standalone unit.
the pcm carries the pressure sensor singal
and the compressor has its own signal
and ill be using the 3rd gen hvac harness with 4th gen hvac controller.
ill be replicating his ac set up with the rear section of the 3rd gen heater box. using the 3rd gen blower resistor. enclosed with the 4th gen evap core. and the front section of the 4th gen heater box fiber glassed to the 3rd gen.
the front portion and hard lines will be 4th gen . and the interior hvac casing is 3rd gen with the 4th gen air vents. i have a notch on my k member as well . hope alll goes well
so wish me luck . lol
yea it is a DD
im a running stock manifolds 02 fbody ls1.
maybe when i come across the right tranny x member for the LTs. ill start saving up for those pricey hawks.
in the near future id like to to heads and cam ..but right now a tune would really help out!
the car is sounds nice and calm with the borla.
people think its a tpi . so its a sleeper here in the streets.
Yeah I modified the spohn piece so it would clear the Hawk's y-pipe. I dont think Im the only one that had to cut it the way that I did. It does help with wrapping the exhaust around.
Maybe it was just me, but the 'drews' x-member didnt work for me. It seemed pretty flimsy and actually didnt even fit on my car...but I dont know if it was just my car or what. Also, there isnt enough beef there for attaching a torque arm mount in my opinion. So you are looking at either keeping the torque arm mounted to the trans or getting a tunnel mount. If I had to do it over, Ide probably get a shorter tunnel mounted torque arm. Couple guys around here run them.
Skulte makes a nice double hump. I like that one...except for the wait times that people are apparently experiencing.
updates working on the ac.
and im running the 4th gen hvac controllers
grabbed a separate vacuum line from the intake ran it to the hvac controllers and extended each vacuum for the actuators
very similar to the 3rd gen controlers but ditches the heater control valve.
i plugged the green vaccum as well an extra option that i cant use.
ghettocruiser gave me the idea of running mechanical switch to be able to run the heater control valve. ill figure something out.
now i just have to fix this problem that i am stuck with . im trying to add this lt1 cable to open the door for the climate control.
all i have to do is run the relay for my ac compressor run the high pressure switch. drop in the condenser and fill it with some oil and r134 and i have some ac in the car
at last a lot of tweaking with the low pressure line do to the radiator i am using.
a lot of wiring, sodering , added a relay and the ac refrigerant switch
i wanted to make sure the compressor and all the 4th gen ducting was working so i went ahead and added some freon and oil to experiment with.
its fully functional blows cold air but not as cold as it should be.
now i have to take it to a ac expert to check the system either release the freon use the vaccum fill it up with better freon. i might end up replacing the drier as well
a lot of time was spent on this. research. but alot of people helped me out
picked up a heater control valve
ill be installing it tomorrow. also found a (full port ball valve) to open and close the vacuum that will control the heater control valve. p.n 5930 .
which will help my ac run more effectively.
this valve i picked up allows me to open and close the vaccum.
i wasnt able to integrate it to the 4th gen controls other wise i think it would be nice.
i am also looking for a new exhaust set up that i have in mind ill be sticking with my exhaust manifolds for now.
