LT1 swap need help

I purchased an 94 Firebird for $800 and drove it home. the good buy was due to not having a title. the engine light was on but after removing the engine trans I found some rats that had munched on a few of the wires. But that is not what

I need HELP with.

1). I have read all the stickies on the swap. but I still cant figure out how to hook the LT1 Harness in to my 92 Camaro?

2). do I need the 94's fuel pump? I read yes and No? where do I find the fuel pump relay on the 94?

3). should I use the fuel tank out of the 94?

4). VATS. what do I do with that?

I still have the entire 94 Firebird I am going to put the 4th Gen rearend (disk brake) in the Camaro

send help
I am going to put the LT1 in over Christmas.

Let's put this in the proper sub-forum first.

There are a few threads on that topic active right now.

Re: LT1 swap need help

The wiring can be tricky if you've never done any serious electrical work. If it really seems that daunting, I'd look into getting a Painless Wiring harness. You still have to do a little splicing with their harness, but from what I've heard it's not too bad.

You only need the LT1 fuel pump if your 3rd gen is carb'd or TBI.

You do no need the fuel tank.

VATS can be programmed out of the PCM for the LT1 to disable it. If you want to keep it, you'll have to get a new VATS module and repin your connector to the LT1 pinout.
