how do i bypass the steam pipe coming out from underneath the throttle body? trying to hide or get rid of as many lines and hoses as possible for a cleaner look.

Re: Steam Pipe Bypass

This is an ls1 as well - but another way of doing it. Might not accomplish your goals of reducing clutter though... Just some bent alluminum pipe and a little hose

Re: Steam Pipe Bypass

Put a 3/8 cap on the port off the tb. Run a new pice of hose off the steam tube up to the radiator. (pass side near the cap)

Re: Steam Pipe Bypass

I drilled and tapped the back of the waterpump under the thermostat for a 1/4" pipe thread. I used a 90 degree hose barb fitting and ran the hose to that. I have been running this set up for 8 years with no problems.

Re: Steam Pipe Bypass

You MUST have a steam setup up top. You CAN plug the rear holes w/ blocks that came one all 03+ LSx motors, then theres a cross over across the front w/ a outlet you can run to the rad/top of the waterpump.

On the thread linked above, post #12 is kind of interesting about the 92 corvette LT1 water pump.

Re: Steam Pipe Bypass

I pluged the steam tube on the back of my LT1 heads not LS1. I have no Idea about those. I just wanted to make clear that I have a LT!
