Cheap SLP loudmouth

I got to looking at the SLP LM1 mufflers, and they have no internals

It looks to be just one large chamber, which raises the question, if I hollow my cherry bombs out and pull the packing, that would achieve the same result correct?

I just got the cherry bombs and they sound decent on the 6.0, but I want something a bit louder with a bit more bite. I also have a question about the 3A racing exhaust tips. I picked them up for cheap and they look great, but they appear to have a sort of baffle/glass packing inside of them as well. Anyone ever seen that?
