LTX and LSXPutting LT1's, LS1's, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects, including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.

i put an lt1 into my 86 camaro from a 94 caprice. i just have basics hooked up, no guages or anything. i have the ignition hooked to to accessory power and starter. it seems as though my whole lt1 harness is getting power as it should, i have hots to the fuel injectors and to the coil but no spark and no fuel still. if anyone has ideas i would like to hear them.(so i dont get asked this in a later post, my pump primes and runs.) my best guess is that i forgot an additional power or something that needs hooked up(for the computer to operate properly), which i tried to find and was unsuccessful, so that may not be it.(also the lt1 is out of a 9c1 so there isn't a security set up on it that i am aware of.)

Is it even trying to crank? If you think its not getting fuel hook up a fuel pressure guage to verify. You can also use some starting fluid. If it cranks you know your getting spark and not fuel. Additionally, you can do a spark test to verify if you are getting spark. Do you have the power in park wire hooked up?
it cranks and cranks well, i pulled a plug and im not getting any spray from the injectors and i grounded the plug and am not seeing the spark, before i did also test with a spark tester tool and had nothing. also i am getting plenty of fuel into the fuel rail
Do you have both sets of power wires going to the PCM, a constant hot and a switched power wire? Also there are two sets of wires for the injectors, one for the odd number cylinders and one for the even number cylinders that go to a switched power source, plus the switched power for the ignition as well.
i will check into the constant and switched power and see if i have them hooked up, i do have power to all fuses in the fuse block and the plugs to the computer have power, i have a feeling that that fact doesnt mean i have all the powers hooked up though, if you could describe to me the colors/ size/ location of the power wires that would be awesome. i have the orange wire and the pink wire hooked up(ecm bat fuse and ecm ign fuse)- theres a drk blue fuel enable signal that i do not have hooked up, what does that do and where does it go? and do i need to deal with the ignition key resistor feed and return? ( it came out of a 9c1 so it doesnt have a special key, just a plain one with no "thingy" for security and its going into an 86 without a "thingy also")

If you have the pink ign wire, and the PCM bat wire hooked up and have power, then you're set on that. Now there are two pink wires for the injectors and one pink wire for the ignition that have to be on a switched source or you won't have any power going to those.
