Thats taken directly from Golen Engine service. Chad told me this is a mild cam and I was thinking of going a little more aggressive for that choppy idle... I plan to only drive weekends around town but I want the ability to drive on the highway for a 2-3 hr drive to the track or car shows etc... What do you guys suggest for a cam? Also to keep in mind reliability but i want more power sooo not really sure what to do here. Money is not a factor (this doesnt mean i will drop everything for an LSX build not since i already have all LT1 stuff... lol). I will be running a D1SC with max 12lb boost, I have no interest in going more than that cause I should be at 600-700 hp range.

haha not really a daily driver.. this will only be driven weekends. But I just want to be able to take it one day for a couple hour drive somewhere and not have any issues.

If you want the choppy idle get it on a 112 or 110 LSA.
are you kidding? you realize this is a blown application? not gonna get a choppy idle in a 383 until you get into the high 220 duration range with a 114ish lsa. talk to a cam grinder, id recommend brett bauer or bullet and give em your car specs.
Chad is a good guy, he does alot of good LT1 builds. That cam is abit mild tho for a 383 blown application.
What heads are you running? stock castings, ported stock castings, aftermarket? If ported what do they flow and what springs do you have?
How high do you want to spin the motor? I take it not too high given the driveability factor.
With blown cars you dont really need a huge cam to make power, let the boost do the work. That cam above would work well, but i'd get it on a 113-114 lsa. Bleeds off any lower rpm boost during daily driving so your not giving the motor extra fuel when its not needed. Could go abit more on the duration like a 224/230 or 224-236 grind. Would be driveable but give more rpm/power if your looking to turn near 5800-6000 rpm peak power and shift abit beyond 6000-6200rpm.

I must of have looked over the SC and just seen the 383.
