lt1/ls1 cylander and fire order

ok got this crazy idea might work i want to mod my lt1. I Am planning to change my ignition set up by moving the location of the opti spark. My idea will be changing the cam dowel so I can use an Ignition control modual with caps from possibly an Ls1 or another engine that uses I control modual for the ignition set up so that I can increase spark power and make tune up easier. what I need though is the firring order for both engines and cylinder locations as well as travel hight for pistons in both engines If my theory works which it should I'll post what i did and how Im pretty sure that the ls1 will be closest

LT1 firing order: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
LS1 firing order: 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3

I know its not everything you need, but its a start

The LS1 doesn't have a control module or cap. It has one coil per cylinder.

Quite a bit has been done along the lines of what you're proposing, as far back as 2002 people were running LS1 coil packs, etc.

You might check a board more focused on the LT1, like camaroz28.com and search for "Electromotive" for example.

Re: lt1/ls1 cylander and fire order

Why not pull the intake and have it machined for a regular distributor and then run a megasquirt setup? Would be pretty simple, wiring would be easy and it would basically run like a regular SBC at that point.

If he mods it for a distributor then he can run a 730 ECM on it
