LS1 connector pigtails

I came across these on eficonnection website and kind surprised me!!!!!

His website lists 3 different connectors for Oil preasure sender/switch.

1. Oil Pressure Sender.
I have this one.

But.....Maybe i am ignorant but where does these 2 plug into ?

2. Oil Low Sensor LT1/LS1

3. Oil Pressure Sensor LSx

Re: LS1 connector pigtails

You don't need the low oil level sensor (big sensor on oil pan) cause you don't even have a light for it in your dash. Number 3 is useless as well if you are using your 3rd gen oil pressure sensor.

Did you mean to say Number 1 ?? thats the one I am going to replace with a 3rd gen oil pressure sensor connector.
I havent seen anything close to connector number 3 on the LS1 harness.

I am going to check my Ls1 pan for that connector. Did the LS1 dash have alight for that. I think my 82 had both a gauge and a low oil light. Wonder why they did not put it in the 89-92 dashes.

Re: LS1 connector pigtails

3rd Gens didn't have an oil level sensor so there was no light .

No number one is the one you will use. Number one is for the 3rd gen, number 3 is the same thing for the 4th gen (I think lol).

We're talking about the oil sensor on the top of the block towards the back of the valley cover right, and not down on the oil pan?

Re: LS1 connector pigtails

#1 is used
You should have this in your stock harness in 3 wire form. The function is the same

#2 is the big tan thing in your pan. Leave it unplugged, you have no provision for it

I have never seen #3 in any of the harnesses I have disassembled or modified

This is exactly I figured it would be until I saw those connectors and Shift06 reply.

Re: LS1 connector pigtails

None that I saw, and Ive stripped quite a few

Oil level light requires a sensor mounted in the oil pan. No third gen that Ive ever seen had one

Oil Pressure Sensor. This is used to bring the oil pressure into the data stream. The early LS use of this sensor is common among Corvette applications. Just about all LS engines today use an oil pressure sensor.

The 3rd gen cluster will only accept a one-wire sender.

so these were used in LS1's in corvettes an not fbody's. what were they specisfically used for in corvettres?
any way to add them to fbody harness ?

Corvette uses the sensor for the gauges and calibration data within PCM.

Why add it to the F-Body? The gauge can't read from the sensor.
