Well I got a better soundclip of what glass packs sound like on a LSX (LQ9 XER281HR cam). The packs are at the end of the pipe, which may be attributing to the "muffled" kind of sound, none the less, here it is!
I'd also love others to throw in sound clips of their swaps if available, I am looking into buying Thrush welded mufflers (flowmaster 40 series copy). I just don't like this sound much, at idle it makes the motor almost seems to just be a crap 350 with a missfire.
Thrush welded 2 chamber mufflers (flowmaster 40 series knock off). IMO these sound MUCH better than anything else i've heard on an LSX, they are also only 29-39 bucks at most places!
That's definitely different from what you typically hear in an LS1. It doesn't sound like a Gen III at all, sounds like glass packs on an SBC.
I typically prefer something like Borla, GMMG, or the like on LS1's, although I am having my exhaust made this weekend and they are using a bullet style muffler. So we will see how that sounds.

GMMG sounds a lot like SLP loudmouth which I thought about going with, but they are both too expensive for what they are. The thrush is also much quieter at idle.
