We try to have GTG meets, we set them up on LS1tech.com thru PM messages so the ricers and idiots cannot find us as easy if at all. Sometimes we have a rolling meet that is fun. My buddy Daniel (Red92RS) on this board has a LS1 RS and he lives in Katy too.

Maybe you should, but as you are not a sponsor i dont know how things might pan out here. IB owns this site as well as Tech so i am not sure, since no one offers the turbo kits you might be safe.

i designed a lsx single turbo hot parts around 3rd gens (among other accesories).
right now in prototype stages. also building a blow thru 4.8. prepping the 4.8 for 20+psi. goal is to rank in quickest and fastest stock ls shortbocks category.

im def gonna apply for tech sponsorship. idk about here yet unless can get some sort of package deal.

How fast do you plan on going with that 4.8? I know that the fairmont with the stock 5.3 went 9.45 with 6.0l cam.

Well, valve springs on the way, Trex cam, victor intake, dual 3 inch 1 chamber flows and MSD 6010 box....so i gotta port some heads now.

I can't wait to hear it run. I love the way one chambers sound. At idle they are not as loud as everyone thinks they will be.

Yea, i have yet to hear someone do 1 chambers on a LSx engine yet, i know i will not be the first but will the the first one i have heard. Going to dump it at the back axle.

I did a maverick like that in 3" also. I took a set of bullets off the car and it sounded like it made about 100 hp more just at idle. lol (I hate the way bullets sound).

This was a punk *** 306 with a b303 cam and aluminum heads. but it sounded a lot meaner than it was.

LOL, working on that, should have taken before pics of the heads but they were so nasty it would have not really been worth it, and i have cleaned them as much as i needed to, saving some work for the machine shop.

shooting for low 9's. 100% stock shortblock. not even rod bolts. turn to 7200-7500rpm full trim with q16. plan around 750-800rw.
going with my set of upgraded 317 heads.

u will be very pleased wuith that trex.
i would like to see higher compression. around 11:1 at least. but down the road u can upgrade with milled and upgraded 243s or 799s.

I love it. You think big like me. I was planning on running the same et as that with a stock 6.2 l92 motor less the vvt and a carb blow through set up. Either a 76 or 88mm turbo.

the hot parts are constructed of stainless.
all vband flange connections for hot parts.
3 or 3.5 dp. vband flange dp to turbo
few options for cold side
cold side bead rolled alum tubing with tbolt clamps and silicone couplers
or vands in stead of silicone couplers. and or even wiggins clamps.like i will do for mine.

thing about the l92 heads, is that they are know for thinner than usual decks. they have even been known for thinner decks than the cathdral ports. i dont think i would pump more than 10psi. thru l92s
i have pumped up to 16psi thru a stock 317s on hbeams/wiseco piston/stock crank built 6.0. and engine has around 25k miles. now

I heard that about the L92 heads but know body that I have seen has tried to put boost to them at all. I know that GM sells the 6.2 crate motor with 9:1 with L92 heads as there "Ready for boost" crate motor. I think with a killer fuel system and on c16 or even q16 pulling timing out you should be able to go 15psi on a stock 6.2. At 376 cu 15psi should put over 600 to the tires depending on how loose the converter is. It may be a good idea to go with arp studs and multilayer head gaskets tho.

vee8 on tech. documented a build around l92 heads. and it did help when he went with ls9 gaskets. but still they were always problematic. the motor had studs. iirc he has trickflows now and runs 8's

Was i na huge hurry to get them to the machine shop to get the VJ and milling done so i didnt get an other pics.

Got the engine plates on, had to modify the clam shells to sit flat, i cut the stamped surface out, flipped it over and welded it back in place so that the engine side was flat and flush sitting on the adapter plate:

Finally, the biggest pain in the *** of the night, installing the Moroso solid engine mounts, SUCKED because the bolts are gay, if you have not done this, hope you dont have to, one bot i couldnt get to, so i cut it off, used the two that i still had and said hell with it, welded them to the damn K member anyway, so bolted and welded, should not have any issues:



Waiting on cam in the mail, timing chain, hope to find a oil pan this weekend, need gaskets, got the 6010 6LS box from MSD last night, so i am happy about that, still need to figure out headers

yeah, there's no getting all the bolts unless you undo the control arms. GM sure screwed that up.

Yea, got all the driver side, but the passenger side top front most bolt was just not happening.

You should have stuck with 2 bolts until the engine was set and bolted in atleast once. Now that its welded, you may be off ever so slightly and have a MAJOR issue getting the mount bolts through

Could luck out though

take the heads to pavlock flow bench and see what they flow now.
compare to stock flow. see how much the port improved.

Wont matter, i have the tools i need to make the clam shells work any way i need, i will alter them before i alter the mounts. Clamshells are cheap as hell even if i did screw them up some how. Good watching out though!

Well, bullet the billet and bought the hawks 1 3/4 with the 3 inch collector...guess headers arent an issue anymore...

Yea, needing the small(er) things now, like head gaskets, bolts, get the pushrod length, ect.

Manual steering box is in, looks great, but i cannot wait to have some weight in the font to see how it is actually going to feel, sure it wont be bad at all, but i just want to know.

Master cyl is in for the T56, went smother than usual.

Well, i am getting somewhere finally, got the damn pushrods in, checked PTV and slammed her together, got another oil pump since i learned from another TGO member that it sucks to replace once in the car, stocker had to go.

Shimmed the stock spring .025 to up the pressure a bit as well.Need to get the intake gaskets tomorrow and put them in the intake but for now i installed the intake because i wanted to.

Torqued the head bolts 30, then 50, then final of 75 FTLBS, should do fine. Had to call it a night since i have to watch the kid and the wife is such a bitch about letting here stay elsewhere while i am not working, go figure...

sorry to backtrack, and sorry I can't tell a joke to save my life, but my dad made a funny comment about "forget Comp 26918s, try the front springs off your Camaro for those valves"

Well, here is my today progress...

Go the pan on, installed the engine, did not line up right with the solid mounts, so i slotted the clam shells a bit and it was a great fir but the pan is right against the K member, so i installed the T56 and i couldnt get the damn Spohn trans swap K member to go in, i assume that the fact it is a LT1 swap cross member might be the issue? But, i had no choice but to destroy the nice pretty powder coating to weld on some angle iron to get the added couple inches i needed to connect the trans to the damn thing, so here is what i did:

Bottom, there is a lip that hangs down but it is not a show car so it will stay that way...



And i had some cherry red that matches pretty damn well that i used to beutify it a bit:



Dont hate me for my lack of welding skills, i am using a 110 flux core and that was honestly my 10th time give or take to actually weld ANYTHING.

The hawks header on the driver side went in from the top, the passenger side...wont go, so i have to lift the passenger side tomorrow and finaggle it in there, so far i am pleased with how the driver side fits and cannot wait to see how the passenger side looks and if it allows easy starter access.

Got the 12 bolts brakes hooked up and bled, bled the clutch(which was not that bad to do), got the TQ arm mounted and ready for abuse, still need to get the rear swaybar back on, change the diff fluid and put the trans fluid in and mount the shifter, here is what she looked like tonight before shutting down for the night:

looking good, great progress. why on EARTH do you still have that AC box in there? both my headers will go in from the top, but i'm not running an AC box.

Well, i like to keep the heater for the winter and when i get caught in the rain to defog the windshield. Remember, the record here was snow 2 times this last winter(still winter kinda?) so my car does not stop seeing road driving till it breaks. I did notice that the damn AC box was what appeared to stop the installation, LOL.

That's a pretty good job for a flux core wire welder. Love my old Forney stick welder for stuff like that.
