Im going LSX would like some input sensors and harness
I learmed alot about TPI from you guys this is a great site. Now I'm going LSX in my 91 corvette. I am asking you guys because you have alot of L98 swap experience.
Here are the specs.
built/forged 5.3 347 iron block with 241 heads
MS3 cam
237/242, .603"/.609", 113 LSA
LS6 Intake
Wiring harness and PCM from a 99 Z28 tuned for the set up.
4L60e out of a 2000 2wheel drive truck.
My plan is to make the 99 Z28 harness i have now a stand alone and work out the guages seprately.
The question is what did you have to do with your gauges to get them to work?
Any input is good even if you dont agree with my plan.. give me a better idea.

Well, there are a few who know a little bit about the LSx engines as well. Enough so we have a separate forum for it (shared with our LT1 brothers).
First, check the LS1 swap sticky:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...third-gen.html
Although its primary focus is 3rd gen swaps, the basic LSx info applies.
You're on your own finding the Vette wiring specifics. But, LS1 wiring info is available in the links in the sticky.
Gauges:
Speedometer - I assume the Vette speedo is electronic. Find the VSS output from the LS1 harness, connect it to your speedo input.
Oil pressure - You can either rig up a '91 sending unit on the oil cooler adapter on the oil pan (above the oil filter), or, as I understand it, the oil pressure output from the LS1 will work.
Engine temp - I have done the separate sending unit in the passenger head routine, but the adapter makes for a tight fit. I'm doing this as I put my LS1/4L60E back in the '82: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I like that Temp sending unit.
I was not looking forward to drilling/taping the head.

for engine temp, it gets easier - grab a sensor and a pigtail from a 98 fbody. its a 3 wire sensor and will drive both you gauge and the pcm
its the same thing as what's in that auction, but much cheaper if you piece it together yourself
