here's my lady as she sits right now. I am looking at getting her in a body shop come tax return. I was still thinking of getting the 91-92 z28 wing (hi-rise) or keep this stock spoiler, what do you gents think?

hey man id go with the high rise. I love mine. so much in fact im changing the ground effects to match the 91-92 years. it has killer looks inside and out! -Matt

see i had ordered the 85-90 front but got the 91-92 so i just kept it. i kind of like it with the old skirts. i will probably have it all painted and then decide if i want to spent the money for the 91-92 skirts. but then, do i change the rear bumper to match also??? i don't care for the flare on the bottom of the 91-92bumber. i am not diggin the 5" spoiler, the thought had crossed my mine, but for 300 bucks, i'll put that towards the nitrous kit or something. keep em coming.
the highrise CAN look good on some cars...the 91-92 is disgusting. I think the camaros look waaaay better with a lip over a spoiler. The rear looks incomplete without it.
it really varies on the person. I didn't like the spoiler. I seen the spoiler on a drag car. it looked SWEET! ill see if i can find pics. The camaro looked wrong with out the 3 piece spoiler. After thinking though... ever third gen around here but one i have ever seen had the lip spoiler. I kinda liked the fact of how my car would look diff. Also you dont have this issue but my hatch isn't alligned perfect so the spoiler hides it better than the 3 piece. really go with what you want. Here is the car that changed my mind. Just do what looks right to you man. -Matt

Reason: bad finger coordination
I like the 91-92 hi-rise too. Filling the holes in the quarter & deck, then having to repaint, is not fun though. Especially the sides of the quarter panels.
my opinion , mine only . i do not care for 91-92 spoilers . i do like the GFX . if you want a different spoiler i would do stock style only higher . just my thoughts , i'm also getting new paint when tax check comes . good luck .
well the hood is the big block hood, not ss. i wish there were more options to choose from. i think i may just keep the stock and just blend the edges of the spoiler to the body. i have seen this done once before. looked sweet. it looked like part of the body. anybody done this before??
another option i prefer over the 91-92 spoiler is the 91-92 w/out the center pedistils. I know it's not very much of a difference...but i just think that it adds something. Just a thought if you were going to spend any serious cash on something new.

83 Daytona 500 Trans Am pace car, 1 of 2500 built, will be revived...pics coming soon!
92 Heritage RS Camaro, one of ~8200 in counting, will hopefully be running in time for NYThirdGen 4th of July car cruise on Deer Park Ave, LI.
Save up for a Hawks 5 inch, since the hood is aftermarket.
I agree with Firebat here. I am thinking about that 5" spoiler too for tax season. You don't see that everyday. And it should replace the original OEM spoiler pretty easily. You have some work to do to replace the RS style with the Z28 style spoiler.
I just took off the stock high rise on my 1991 Z28. I will sell it for $125.00 and you pay shipping. I have the rubber seals and nuts also. It's white with no scratches or nicks. email

GT fiberglass sells them... for how much i dont know but go down about half a page just under the high rise. you'll see it. -Matt

it seems like a different wing then what has typically been put on the 82-92 firebirds. i like how it's square on the edge and it looks to have a gap in the center to rise off of a deck lid.

That's a repro of the Mecham wing. Very nice design. But the cost isn't very nice. Just get a 4th gen rear wing. We've done 2 (my car & a buddys) in my local club, and you can have the stock one off, and the 4th gen on, within maybe 2 hours. Not to mention.....the price. If you pay over $100 for one, you got ripped off.
anyone using the hi rise 91-92 style wing with no middle feet ? if so got pics?
How would you mount it without the middle feet? The outers reach out past the decklid itself, and sit on the quarter panel tops. So, even if you used those to mounting it, how would the hatch open? The wing would be in the top after about 4".
That's why the Superbird wings were so tall. Just high enough, to let the trunk lid open, no other reason.
im fairly sure that the edges have two bolts on each side that mount on the hatch. My high rise has 8 bolts 2 on the center feet and two on the sides. -Matt
I agree. You need the side skirts to add the wing otherwise it will look like you just through the front spoiler on. I both on each one of my cars. The wind is more aggresive and so is your hood. To my eye the car looks like a top heavy woman with no booty....if you know what I mean.

my favorite is the mid rise and the OEM style high rise. the high rise without the middle posts looks like a pepboys spoiler to me for some reason. but to each their own!
I want a mid rise but the light is integrated and with the hatch lights theats alot of brake lights lol!

i set it up just to look at how it would look on my 91 rs and it seems like its to wide and it would have to bolt to the fenders. is it the wrong one or is it just is the wrong place could someone please help me out. personal message me please thanks

Mock it up for a pic. I'm not sure I'm understanding. If it is too wide, that sounds like the outer downs are wider than the car, but then you say mounting it to the fenders, which would mea it ISN'T wider.
