Thanks dude, Im not really sure what kind of wheels I want yet, but I am getting tired of the rally wheels. What do you mean stripes? Like the Camaro emblem for the nose? I have one but its faded so im going to buy a brand new one.
As far as the interior goes yeah im going to keep it stock pretty much, I have the headliner I just need Door panels (black) and some interior hardware. I might remove the 85 MPH gauge cluster for a 145MPH one, also get a nice Tach & Shift light, but thats later on down the line. A 4th gen front seat swap might be coming too, but im not sure because I have the Power Adjust Recaro seats in it ATM, I think they came with the car IDK if they are worth anything though. But yeah the car is kinda almost done, a 350 swap might be coming too. Only time will tell ;D
Sorry, I didn't specify what stripes. I mean the stripes on the bottom of the car like on the pictures below. Just wondering if you're going for that look or not? Either way it sounds like you have great plans for the car. Sorry I don't have any info on the recaro seats. I'm sure someone here can shed some light on that issue for you. If no one replies about the seats here maybe you can ask on the History and Restoration board.
This is from the 1983 Camaro sales brochure.
This is what the stripes look like on mine.

Hey lope...That plate "Camaro" thats on the camaro picture you just posted is the same one that I shipped off today...Enjoy. Dude, your car looks sharp. If anybody has a question about how a stock 83 Z28 looks there is no reason to look past yours.
That's awesome Kevin. Thanks so much. You car looks great too. Maybe if gas keeps getting cheaper I'll take a ride over there so we can cruise HW1

It looks like you're making it for the drag strip. Is that an aftermarket front end? The one thats 4" longer than stock? It looks like you had to cut out the spots for the headlights. Do you drive it on the road?

Ah, i sorta guessed thats what you meant after I posted what i said. I think is far as painting goes im gonna keep it how it is, the 82-84s didnt come with stripes like how I have mine so, i think ill stay a little different though. your maro looks sick though man.
Dude, your heritage stripes look good. Theres no law that says 82-84 can't have stripes, Personally I think they're very appropriate. How many 69 Chevelles do you see with heritage stripes although they weren't factory until 1970 ? Almost all. And the wheels? I like them, I think they work well. The stock look is cool I have to say, but custom touches are cool also. We dont want every car looking like the other. Then there would be no point in "custom."
The blue is from 4 LED's in each housing, and I have a switch just for them. So with just the housing lights it looks like:
The thing behind my plate area is an intercooler:
I'm really diggin' those headlights. So the leds come installed in the housings, and you just wired a switch up for inner/outer housings? I think when I get some extra $ I'm definitely picking up a set.

Suena muy bien. Que pasa con el TransAm? Es tu nuevo carro o que? Ademas del polvo el carro se ve en buenas condiciones. Gracias otra ves por la placa. Hasta luego.

Thanks! Different is good when done in good taste and that you have. Your car looks great as it is, I was only curious if you had plans for that or not.
Keep up the good work and let us know how your interior comes out.

I know that www.classicindustries.com carries the seat covers and door panels for the 82 pace car. Any of the platic pieces can be removed, cleaned up and re-dyed. And I'm sure you know that all of the decals are still available also. Two of them? Sounds like a fun project. Are you doing them both or using one for parts?

The thing with re-dying, though, is that the '82s were a slightly different shade of blue compared to any other years. It's my 1st choice to find direct replacements, but I understand that's an option if my hand is forced.
They're both complete cars, though. Paid about $1500 for the CFI one in '99, was running at the time. The top pic one I paid $500 for last year. The top one has side impact damage on the driver's side, but runs like a dream, drives straight, too. The latter has a great body, but I blew the motor a while back, been sitting in storage. I finally have a 2nd CFI motor I got off of ebay so I can rebuild one of them this winter and get her running again.

2... damn I envy you!! I would love to get ahold of a 4 speed pace car!

hey kevin, yes it can be driven on the street if i put some turn signals and exhaust pipes on it. but it's really a track car.the other camaro in pic#3 will be for the street.it's an 87 with a pumped up 350.(still working on it though) the track car is an 83 with a 383 stroked engine. hey i used to live in Ca. been to Infineon race track plenty of times (even when it was called "sears point"

Yeah, I remember when it was Sears Point. It's about 30 miles from my house. Nice that they have NASCAR, NHRA, and formula 1. They also have drag night on Wednsdays but I've never made it down. Where in CA. did you live?

well that depends on who you ask. you see, we lived right at the borderline of three neighboring cities.Oakland, Emeryville, and Berkeley. you ask my wife, she'll say we lived in emeryville, my kids claim berkeley, i say we lived in Oakland. right at 55th and San Pablo ave. oh, (not sure if it was you who asked but the front of my 83 is all fiberglass) will try to get some more pics later.
[quote=Hubbardj6;3930422]Heres my 84' Z. ill get some interior ones up later, even though its nothing amazing, 3-4 a cigerette burns from the previous owner.
(yeah i know, myspace, stupid right? i cant figure out how to post them directly on the thread.)
It's easy, when you open your my space page look to the right of your photo where it says "LINKS TO THE PHOTO". Click the "copy" button for "Photo URL." Then when you post on this site, click the "insert image" button. It's the one that has a mountain in it. That will bring up a URL mask for you to populate with the my space URL. It will have already been copied to your computer, all you'll have to to is RIGHT click in the box and PASTE.

Lope, this is what I was thinking your car may have started out as. Probably wrong but I was thinking this because of the blue interior. The GFX in the picture is silver, just looks blue because of the stripe.
Thanks for the info Kevin. I'll look into it but I think that the silver stripes are growing on me.
I have a diecast replica of an 82 Z28 that has blue stripes and gray interior so I wonder if maybe the colors were reversed for contrast.
Makes for a nice display at the cruise nights, man I already cant wait 'till next year.

White, Red, Blue, Arizona Highway Patrol, and California Highway Patrol.

I have yet to see one for that year! I do know they just released a GTA diecast, and they have a KITT one out. Although AFAIK they are not made by Sunstar.
Thats what alot of people say when they see it, kitt or knight rider are the two popular names!
I noticed your camaro also has the C&C t-tops.How do you like them.I love mine, even though parts are hard to find.

For the record, here's a pic of my '83. It is the EXACT same color combo as lope's with the silver/gray decals - which I believe to stock. I thought it would have made sense for it to have come with blue stripes, but here are two cars (mine and lopedawg's), with gray/silver.

Here's my 82, dad bought it new and I got it after he passed away. Car has 42,000 miles and is still clothed in the original paint. Car was originally a CFI car, I started tearing into it years ago when I was still young and stupid, I am just now finishing a build that I am pretty proud of (1 of 4 since the first time I took it apart). Wish I was older when I got it I would not have torn it apart but left it all original. I have done everything myself on the car, LT1 and six speed swap. 1997 dash and center console swap. Lots of suspension goodies, 1LE brakes (the real ones not fakes), 1LE gas tank, etc... Does anyone else out there have an 82 in this color? it is Dark Claret Metallic and I have only ever seen 2 others, one in my area which I am sad to say is ruined and another that was a resto that I saw on ebay recently. I think the color is awesome and makes the car look a lot newer since most of the 82-84's were in very 80's colors (No Offense Guys, I love all of the cars I have seen in the post ) Well I hope you enjoy the pictures.
