Re: new photoshoot my 1985 IROC w/ 6" Harwood Cowl

if you were looking at the vid on the link myspace, that was right after i got her running, pretty much untuned.

its huge, but now i got some room for my carb spacer and 6" tall aircleaner element.

i really like the look of it and the clearance. its a whole new best now (at least cosmetically).

That's a tall hood, but you say it's an 85, was the front end changed? Because that's a 82-84 Z front.

I hope that thing runs at least 9s to need a hood that huge. Good luck turning right as well, you can't possibly see anything. I have a 4" cowl and it knocked out a good amount of viewing angles. No reason for an air cleaner that massive I bet in 2 weeks of driving you regret going that big.

it is an aftermarket fiberglass hood (of unknown manufacturer) with the hole cut and bolted on.

its not a street car. it may go back and forth to the track, or out on the weekends, but far from a daily driver.

because i left them in place so the brackets were painted and some of the bolts were stripped somewhere along the line.

....and the automatic shifter and shiftknob?

...I mean it doesn't matter to me, the car looks pretty cool regardless of the year....I'm just questioning the year. Cool car either way.

the vin matches in 3 spots of being an 85, so thats enough for me... but yea, it is very mismatched together. i didnt even realize that the shifter and knob until you mentioned it though.

thanks. once i can pull her out i will get some new/better pics up for you all.
