Hi guys, I got my baby in september of this year, for $2400...Its an 1984, and has a 305 V8. I personally have to say that my favorite thing about this car, is that the interior is in very good condision. Besides the headliner being gone, and missing one sun visor. Tell me what you think of it!
Very nice,The white paint looks good! I used to have a 84 camaro w/2.8 v-6. My wife wreck it, Oh well I have a 91 Camaro RS now and she doesn't drive that one!
Looks nice for an 84 s/c. IMO you over paid though. Needs some work... toss a headliner in it and get yourself some floor mats and a new visor. I am not trying to rain on your parade, the car looks to be very solid but I am not much on s/c cars. Look unfinished without the gfx. and the slots in the bumper. Just my .02

ditch the hideous nose for a newer one to start. other than that not bad, SWEEEET blue interior, I don't think I've ever seen one without sh*t brown stained carpets.

you know i kinda like slotted bumper more. i think it looks kooler that the new ones...but i kinda wish i had a gfx kit...do they make them for the front bumper i have?
and on another note...after seeing the dirty floor in these pics i ran and got my hand vac, i can tell you that the carpets look new again lol
The car needs gfx all around but the nose would be ok with the slots as long as it had the chin spoiler. I also think it would look bad with just the chin spoiler and not the rocker and rear gfx. The lines should flow and it won't if you leave parts off.

Maybe.... I actually thought they were s-10 wheels. maybe they are one in the same wheels. The center caps are def. s-10 centers. The 91-92 caps are different. I am thinking the wheels are just from an s-10 all around. But like I said maybe GM used the same wheel and just swapped the centers.
And i don't like them if you want my opinion. I don't like the 91-92 wheels at all, even with the right centers. I am a big fan of the 89 IROC wheels, maybe I am biased... As for a change, I do like the look of the C6 wheel too on the third gen.

Nope, they were 16x8 used on the 96-00 S10 and Sonoma 4x2 models. My guess is GM had a crap load left over or still had the die from the 92 camaro so decided to us them. I can't see them retooling to make a wheel that is so similar. Here is what I mean... stock 16" s-10 4x2 wheels...

here are my tires...if ur intrested
No worries, Camaros had them first! You could get the Camaro centers and no one would ever be the wiser.
Tires are nice but the floors look a little rusty. Better take care of that before it becomes an issue. We had our car undercoated in 89 and it is flawless underneath.

When I bought a set of the 17" Impala SS wheels for my Tahoe, I didn't wanna roll around with the Impala emblems on the center caps, so I traded them for a Bowtie set of those center caps, from a S10.
what do they look like? im looking on google and ebay, and there are a lot!
thx
What topless said... he beat me to it but here is the cap on a wheel... Notice it is the same wheel. On the 94 and later cars it was the salad shooter wheels.
on a side 2 side comparison i think the camaro caps look better
Even though I do not like the 91-93 wheels as much as the 88-89 IROC wheels, they do look much better with the correct Camaro caps over the s-10 flat caps. I bet the caps can be had of the internet for pretty cheap.
Also a few other things I noticed about this car... I was asking myself why the second tach... I know after market tachs can be more accurate but this isnt a manual or a race car. Then I was asking myself what is the representation of the orange side of the tach (right guage on the dash)??? Then I realized it was the fuel guage!
Are all of the dual sided guages like that? Did they ever come with a tach on the right side?
Also I have to agree 100% about lowering the car... slightly. It really is a good looking clean car, just a little high. Lower it and get the Camaro caps.

Very Clean '84. I like it. Mine's an 84 sc too, but mine has Z/28 ground effects and hood. I thought that the S-10 version of these wheels had the same backspacing front to back, not like the staggered camaro wheels. Could be wrong though.

Could be. Maybe the S-10 came with just fronts or just rear. This would eliminate the stagger.

You mean 91-92 rims. 1993 was the first year of fourthgen, and the first year of salad shooter rims, which I think look nice as well. Also, I think you meant to say 88-90 Iroc rims lol... I feel like I'm being really picky! Sorry. But I agree, 88-90 Iroc rims look good. That's the reason I want that year of Iroc!
As for caps being cheap... not really. I found some for $160 a piece... if you need four, you're talking over $600. OE is ridiculously expensive.
I do have to agree with you, the 82-84 Camaro's without ground effects, the SC, and the Berlinetta Camaro's were ugly. I too, dislike the slotted nose. I like the Iroc ground effects, but the best was 91-92, very sexy with those small scoops on the front and side valences! One of the best looking Camaro's made.

Reason: Pickiness!
Keep that thing like it is man. Drop it, get rid of that tach and those add on gauges, swap in the factory gauge set or one of the gauge pods with some nice aftermarket gauges and enjoy! G/FX are for people who think they are fast.

I completely agree with you!
on another note, after thinking about it...i dont want to get a GFX kit for it anymore.
The way I look at it is, that its a sport coupe, and i dont want to make it look like something its not. Ive come to really like the slotted nose, but thats prolly just cause its mine...
Personally I would dump the wheels and add GFX. I just looks too plain the way it is. I understand wanting to keep it original but that car will never be a collectible car. Why do you think GM stopped making SC? The GFX make the car.
Just my .02 but I would modify, modify, modify. If you wanted stock I would have gone with a Z or an IROC.

i dont care if it wont be collectible, i want to keep it stock cause i just love it the way it is...
I want to put new suspension, wheels, brakes, engine, and all that good stuff in it later, once i can afford it.
The 82-84 chin spoiler should bolt right up to that bumper. If you look at the underside. You should see holes from one side to the other.Thats where the spoiler would bolt up to.

im pretty sure it wont. the bumper cover that has the chin spoiler(z28 one) is diffrent, heres mine.
Heres a not very good pic, but it should give a good idea. The early Zs used "vents in the spoiler instead of the bumper.

Just because it looks different.Doesnt mean it wont work.Alot of things look different over the years on these cars(seats, hoods, dashboard,Rr disc & bumpers), but bolt on the same way.
Just look under the bumper & check for those holes. The spoiler will have corresponding holes. You might have to drill holes on the fender for the side of the spoiler, but its no biggie.

I put the front gfx from a 84 Z28 on my 84 SC. You do have to drill the holes. I will see if I have a pix. Since then I switched the nose to a 84 Z28 nose and added the rest of the GFX. If you don't like the tach and extra gauges that are mounted switch out your gauge cluster for one with a tach and gauges. I also did this you have to change the oil sending unit from the one for the idiot lights to one for gauges. I believe there is a post detailing this swap somewhere on the site.

thanks for the advice Hotrod, but i think i wanna stick with all my SC bumpers...like i said before, i dont want to make my car something its not.
but thanks again!!
I think we all have things we would and wouldnt do to our thirdgens...making mine look like a Z/28, is one thing i dont wanna do.

thanks for the pic! i knew what 82-84 Z28 bumpers looked like, i was just thinking that there was another bumper i never saw before, so thats why i asked.
I agree. If its a SC leave it a SC. Hey you like so keep it! heck i would trade my 91 aero GFX for a perfect interior any day! : ) very clean. Now i'm not sure about the V6... been there done that but5 than again my 5.0 is not much better.
