well i got the carpet pulled, headliner off and plastics out. i plan on sunday putting the carpet in and cleaning all the plastic, to include shampooing the carpet on the plastic panels. here is how nasty the carpet was.

well today i took all the plastics and scrubbed them down with soap/water and a brillow pad. i also scrubbed the carpet on the panels and vacuumed out the water. i then soaked them in high gloss armor all. let me tell you, i wish i had more before pics because they came out awesome!! i also cleaned and then painted the center console. that came out really really nice. still has the texture but nice gloss. i will get a new center arm rest/glovebox replaced. here are some of the pics.
Curious: are you going to put the Iroc decals back on?
I am putting a black Iroc decal on, I will post pics when it is on, my paint in almost exactly the same as yours minus the stripe, (I know you've seen it) so it will give you an ideo of what yours will look like.
no i will not put the decal back on. after all the exterior touches, ie stripe, 406 decal rims, the iroc-z decal wouldn't fit the look of the car. to me, i think the car looks more modern.

ha
that's cool, which picture did you use for your screensaver?
Looks awesome seeing this makes me wanna go out and do something to my car but im pretty broke and trying to save up for senior prom :/. I think the wheels look great .
well today i received the headliner, door panels, inner/outer upper door stripping i wasn't able to work on it today, crappy weather. i will get out on thursday and start putting it all back in. post pics when its in.

thanks, yea i can't wait for the interior to be all in. right now i am dealing with installing the seats. don't know wether to use stock sliders or the aftermarket ones in got. i will have to mod the aftermarket to get them to fit right.

so do what do you guys think?? stripe a little different, good or bad? either way it ain't changing but still like to know. no more pics until it's completely done and all lights back on assembled and final buff.
I love this hood but i wasnt sure how to paint it but your paint scheme is perfect. You wouldnt get mad if I did the black on Silver would you? The one stripe down the middle is sick looking i love it.
no, i wouldn't mind nor hav a choice. this is the only camaro done this way. silver would be hot. i was playing with photobucket to try and change the color to silver but i couldn't. i however did make it blue.

well almost, my car will most likely have a white or flat black single stripe on top of the stinger cowl (maroon car - 91z) this summer, as well as the trunk lid and top of the z28 wing. i was going to do it when i first painted the car, but i couldnt figure out how a wanted to do the wing/trunk so i held off untill i could decide
just got carpet in, well 90% in. i have to trim. i didn't think it would be as much of a pain in the butt as it is. plan to get more done tonight if wife is feeling good. she is kinda sick. for sure done this weekend. .

I feel your pain with the carpet. I was down in galveston way back and my uncle woke me up tellin me I better move my car before it floats away so I got out of bed and stepped into 4 inches of water in my room! Yeah I got lucky though my car was parked up a little higher but water got inside. I drove home and pulled the carpet shampooed the **** out of it and used a power washer on it. While it was drying I drove to home depot and bought 10 dollars worth of insulation and cut and shaped it the way I wanted it. Car looked like new after that. Its worth it. Oh and I was thinkin the stripe be silver and the car being black. Man I love those wheels by the way.
well i got the door panels on... they were more of a pain in the butt than i expected. i just hate the panel snaps. also have the headliner almost ready to bolt up. have to keep trimming to get center to mount my over head console. i'll be back on the carpet tomorrow and then everything else is easy. snap and button. here's the doors.
thinking of switching wheels in the future, either of the following two. which do you guys think would look better? remember car is going to be red with single black racing stripe.
) 18x8.5" & (2) 19x10"
Corvette C6 ZR1
Rear 18 x 10.5 56mm / Front 17 x 9.5 54mm offset
If you do go with one of those, Please sell me the set that is one your car now, I think it would really compliment my ride!
Let me know. Thanks
well my original door panels had carpet on the bottom. so when i reordered it, i did with the carpet on. i like it. at first i didn't like the contour lines but i do now that they are all together. my old door panels pattern were just split in half with carpet on bottom. i have decide to get the roh 18" wheels so i can get rid of the spacers or boze. this will be next tax season. i will then get rid of my current wheels and spacers. well i gots to eat some breakfast and get back out and finish this thing up today.

well it is all in, i am still waiting on stock manual seat brackets so i can mount the seats. i will not be running any back seats. so i will need to make a rear delete panel. there is a spot in a pic on the center console where it's white, armour all that i didn't wipe. i will be getting some new window switches and making panels to plug some of the holes from the rear seats.
i didn't know wether you got a chance to see it done yet!! i decided, obviously, not to paint the hump in the center. are you going to?
i dont think im going to paint the "Stinger" or whatever its called, although i saw a '69 camaro with this hood, and it had the stinger painted and it looked good!
your car is turning out GREAT, great drive train, paint, and the interior is coming together nicely! i haven't posted in this thread in a while but ive been checking it every day because your car is the only one with our hood thats being built "right" IMO. i like the 2nd wheel choice ALOT, the new zr1 looks cool but i think it belongs on the zr1
Personally I like the floor mats to match the carpet...but black looks pretty good too. I like your red with the black Z28 idea.
I might be inclined to ditch those saggy stock seat belts at some point and go with a nice set of black 4th gen belts. Black or charcoal...whichever matches your seats best.
the seat belts aren't that bad, i was in and out of the car and they weren't ratched back up. they do ratchet pretty tight, plus with the seats in, should look better. hopefully the seat track gets here by thursday and i can have the seats in friday night/sat. i might have to go for a drive!!!!

well the interior is all stock replacement. it came with red leather seats front and back, however, on the first page i have my black leather seats that i am putting in posted. the old carpet was more brown/black than red. (dirty)
well the seats are in. man do i love them. they are so comfortable. i ended up having to re-drill a hole on each slider and elongate the track mount holes. the seats were actually wider than the stock ones. anyways, all is good and can't wait to hit some turns.
seats are black, i used meguiars leather conditioner. i think i'll hit them with some armour all and see if they look darker. might also be just wash out from the flash.
