Starting a long rebuild - 1986 IROC Z
I spent my 4-day weekend going from this:



to this:





The grey patches were sanded and primed before I parked the car in the fall, this weekend I removed the lower body molding (to continue taking care of surface rust) as well as every interior trim piece (less the dash), the seats, center console, headliner, and carpets.

I'm still unsure of what I'm going to do to it mechanically. My tentative aim is a 400WHP weekend ride, suggestions on the best setup for that are welcome. I only spend a few days a year working on this thing, so I've got lots of time to decide.

Looks like a fun project! nearly identical to how my iroc was when i started!

Question, in this picture here, it looks like your trans tunnel is tweaked. Is the chassis straight on this car??

your floor definetly looks tweaked. check out my thread in my sig. pretty much alot of the same things your doing. plus pics of the floor pan without some of the creases you have.

You know, I saw that when I posted up the picture but I didn't notice it when I was in the car. It is possible that it's a bit bent out of shape, I gave this car a pretty rough time when I was younger, but it's never caused any driving or fitment issues that I could tell.
