Well a couple weeks ago I got surprised with this! A 1987 Camaro! Got it for 800 bucks, I need somthing to fix up as I plan on going to automotive tech school. Its got a V6 with a flowmaster exaust that sounds GREAT. The rims are brand new as well. Installed a new wheel this week and front and rear supports. THe car has a lot to be done but this summer it iwll be stripped of all paint, rust removed, and painted.
So far the stickers are off in teh back the hood is off and being fixed/replaced with a smaller cowl. Will be updates soon!
i got my bird for 450 and ive done ALOT of work lol
also, what are u doin with the old cowl? trashin it?
Yea a lot of the work on the car is cosmetic the engine is in excellent condition and the guy kept track of all the money he spent on it. The old cowl was a 6 inch bolt on, its being replaced with a 3 inch bolt on. Probably going to sell the 6 inch.
AWESOME FIND!!! i think the new wheels and tires probably cost more than 800 dollars. You should probably try and get all those leafs out from around the firewall and such, they tend to cause cancer.

That looks like a pretty nice car and definitely a nice deal for $800.
Ik sure can't beat it

Mostly body restoration and interior and a new stereo system. I also really like those B&M automatic shifters. Also when anything breaks it will be upgraded!

If these wheels didn't come with teh car I probably wouldn't have bought it. Well cleaning...it only got dirty the past few days from all the dust and sanding (would get pics but its raining again)
Pics
Yesterday we got half the roof sanded and all the holes out of the hood. and sanded it. Tried fixing the tach today but needs more work.
Anyone kno where I can get a patch panel for this?
Its the bottom where the spare tire is located. The last owner put a rag in there to "absorb" the water so when we were cutting it caught on fire, lovely...
Finished quareter, few spots need to be redone, hatch is near completion but 2 straight weeks of rain except for one day is really being a pain in the .
So heres some pics, the only thing left is the door, and hatch and then its wetsanding and off to make maaco
Also got a color, charcoal metallic, its really dark almost a black, took me forever looking through pages on this forum just to decide.
Got it paitned, everything looks good excepted my body work on the hood just sucked, may eventually get a new one and have it painted, well see how it looks after the lcear isn't so shiny!
for 800 bucks for body work and paint I can't complain, its a nice color, its one color, and theres no rot
Well problem was my emblem was so cracked you couldn't see what you were looking at so I junked it for now, and I regret it as that little pieces of plastic is rediculously expensive! If anyone can hook me up for a cheap price it would be very much appreciated.

Tried 3, one had one camaro and it was cracked up just as bad as mine, only other choice is drive more than an hour to find one . It will probably end up costing more to find a used one than just buying a new one. I've been keeping my eye out on craigslist trying to find some who's parting out a third gen.
well then break out the pocket book and close your eyes as you push "pay now" and get the new emblams. new emblams, new paint.. itll look great
lmao, thats probably what I'll be doing too. Maybe I just won't get it quite yet...I'll wait maybe something will show up. I have to replace my exhaust manifold. Not gonna be a fun job.

Well from the looks of it you also got a 350 and I got a v6. No plans for engine swap, its reliable as it is now so I have no reason to swap it out yet.
Congrats on a good looking//running Camaro without breaking the bank! Good Luck with your journey into the automotive world!!-- You're off on a GREAT start!
