Thanks. yea I was deciding between leaving it silver or painting it black but it looked Okay silver but then kinda gambled and painted it black and I guess it all worked out well
Looks great, how happy with the maaco paint job are you? And if you don't mind me asking what did it run? I've got a blazer and my camaro I want to get painted, and the guy I normally used just told me he's not painting entire vehicles anymore. He said I should just take them to maaco.

Well, although the paint job turned out nice, I should warn you that, in all 3 Maaco's I've ever had service, I have been very disappointed in one form or another.
This Maaco that did my car seemed legit and that they would do a good job and the guy who co-owns it was also very polite and helpful, then on the day I went to pick it up, it was missing the clear in spots on the front bumper, didn't have clear underneath the mirror, and had a HUGE run that stretched from the right fender ALL the way around the car to the left fender. Yea. HUGE.
Yet, he tried to let me take it home. Then he took another week and a half fixing those things. So on the last day I go to pick it up, I found out they lost my honeycomb piece that goes in my hood scoop.
The jury is still out until he paints it and ships the piece to me. Overall, it took much longer than it should have. So far, C-.
Nice looking ride. Simple and clean. Glad to see you even kept the original style front bumper cover. Oh yea, you wouldn't want to donate that GTO in the background to my needy cause ? I like that year.

Well it's funny you mention that b/c I actually wrecked this car and had to put a new front end on it. I also have an 88, so I took the front end off the 88 and put it on my 84. But whats funny is that about 8 years ago, before I even bought my 84, I had wrecked my 88 and replaced the front bumper on it with........you guessed it...... a junked 84-Z. So, in a twist of luck, when I wrecked my 84 recently, I got the exact front bumper I needed from my 88. I got lucky b/c back then, I didn't care what front end I had just so long as it would bolt up right.
As for the GTO, I'm sure my dad would be willing to donate it..... for a small donation of 4-5k
