Yes, the hood is the 64-67 corvette style hood. Ascd which sells the hood calls it the big block hood. I don't know if all corvettes with BBC came with this hood but I would guess so.
This is ONEBAD91CamaroRS's camaro, this is the hood that i thought was the bigblock hood.
I mean't this hood is the L-88 Hood
That L88 one is typically the "big block hood", the other one was only on the 427 Vettes, hence the name "427 hood" or "427 big block hood". Never heard it called a "stinger hood until this thread.
Too bad neither are made for the 'birds. Firebirds have SO FEW choices! But I guess that is because they are sexy already & don't need the "make-up" that the Camaros do!
L-88 has always been just that L-88 not big block. The hood with the corvette stinger type scoop is listed at hawks thirdgen as BIG BLOCK style and I have heard it called a stinger hood in magazines describing early yenko and baldwin motion cars since i can remember.
I've had one on my car since 2001 and as you can see in the picture it is currently in the paint shop. I had to have the hood from the first time I saw it. Funny how ASCD is still using the exact same picture to advertise it, as a matter of fact sail, isn't it the same color as yours?
Does it draw air in from the back? Did it come with the air box or did you get that separately?
Sorry for the year long delayed response. Yes it draws air from the rear of the hood or base of the windsheild it is working cowl induction. The air box is a SLP lid for a 4th gen turned upside down.
