So i have been lingering around the forums for a bit now, just going around learning new things and would like to share my interesting story on how i got my 92 and some input!
Some info on the car. The car was brought into the family in 07. Dad owned it for the first year and took very good care of it as soon as i saw it being parked in the driveway i just fell in love with it. Nothing out there beat the style of it in my eyes. In mid 08 the car was handed over to me when my dad lost his keys and replaced the key ignition cylinder lock and ran into VATS problems, He was about to junk the car and i stepped in and bet him i can fix it and in under 30 minutes (Thank god i got the right Code in under each 5 min lockout period! ) and he handed over the keys. The car stayed in the garage until May 20's of this year and yea it rusted a bit. Its been my daily driver ever since.
Car Info:
350 L05 TBI. Only modifications are Edelbrock headers, Performer TBI Intake, Custom done exhaust. Some mild mods done to the TBI unit itself nothing special. Other information can be found on user info!
.
What are some spots i should check out that are common for rust to be on our third gens?
Here are some pictures of the car when it was in ''Storage'' and being used as a beer table and some of it now (2 months old but nothing changed) being used as my daily driver.
As for my plans for the car, I would love to get the car painted up in my favorite color... Black! with some red rs stripes and a 2 inch cowl hood. Hopefully soon.
Pictures! I would get more soon since im getting the 4th vette wheel tired up and the right side has a firebird wheel up front.

Reason: Title change.
On the driver side block, back of the block, there will be the stamping codes for the block - if you see a 5.0 there, it's the 305. It's hard to see - look close, use a flashlight, and you'll find it - maybe a small hand mirror will help. Without the stamped numbers, there's no way to tell what the block is.
@ Block comment: Yea i was gonna check today but it was raining badly.
@ Rims: Yep their vette wheels i like them. The car came with only 3 and 1 firebird style wheel, I recently got the 4th wheel and im getting the tire for it this weekend.
@ Exhaust: Is it really? I like these all the third gens aside from mine in this area have the stick up ones that go up and look horrible imo.
Yep, I like it, I feel like it complements the vette wheels. One thing that bugs me is how lazy the installation was from the previous owner before my father purchased it.
I just got home and its still kinda misty, Tomorrows weather seems decent might check what engine it is tomorrow and find out.
Thanks for the comments, if someone can answer some of my Q's would be nice!
well if u checked under the carpets and everything u pretty much covered the rust spots. any other ?'s
Thats pretty much it. I am gonna recarpet the car this weekend and install new t-top weatherstripping i got over here for cheap. New Black GT Steering wheel since the current stock airbag has about half an inch space from the column since its an older replacement column.
Looks like a good weekend coming up for some projects.
@ Tony: Thanks! I like the current paint job combo alot, but to me nothing beats the style of Artic White or Jet Black!

Update: For the past few days I have been working on the cam's interior. I scored a very good deal on a driver side 4th gen leather seat from Craigslist. A random daily browsing of Craigslist came out good, A local guy was selling a pair of 4th gen leather seats for $120. I ended up just getting the driver side since the passenger side looked like it went to war with a knife. Still a good deal for 1 seat for $45 after I buying the door panels he had from his 4th gen strip he did. So that run scored me a 4th gen leather driver seat, both 4th gen door panels with switches, and a Autometer RPM gauge. All for $135.
One thing I am wondering, If done right how long would a 4th gen dash swap take? He had the complete dash for sale as well from his 4th gen and said If I am interested he would part the whole setup for $150. Im still kicking myself for not picking it up on the spot but I only brought a short amount of money with me. So what do you guys think? Do the complete 4th gen swap? I myself love how it looks, Don't get me wrong I love the 3rd gen dash look but not so much for the 92 style mine has.
Other than that update I am thinking of replacing my dinged up hood with a 2' Cowl hood. Any specific brands to look into more than others? I will take some pictures tomorrow morning of the loot, Seat would be installed already but just having one would look kinda retarded lol
Looks nice, I think it'd look better without that muffler tip though.
Well in the pictures there are very noticeable, but in person you don't really see them unless you really really pay attention to em. Which is the main reason I went with those style tips. I am more of a fan of nice hidden things with a big bang (Thats what she said) than big *** chrome tips.

some elbow grease a little money and some patiance. here is where i started.
Well god damm you trying to make me feel like a bad camaro owner? Nice man any articles or how to guide or just plain advice for removing things in the engine bay that are not needed?
Here is a recent picture I found in my Photobucket album of what my engine bay looks like, and yea the front end is unpainted and has been for a while, Also the Firebird wheel is getting replaced as soon as I get all new tires for the wagon wheels.
Well next orders are probably gonna be new front fenders and replacement protective inner fender plastic. If you are wondering why, look closely at the fender shown above near where the GFX is.
Just got done after a few days with getting all the main rust from the rear quarter panels. A few days later with some sore hands and 3 rust stripper wheels and patience and the rear quarters are rust free and already primed ready for some body filler.
Sorry for the crappy phone pictures but I broke my main camera.
Rear quarters are done for the most part. The spot near the T-tops is just a temp job and will be done right after new weatherstripping goes in. The spot near the windshield has me thinking of what ways to fill it in and patch it up.
I plan to get the car done by late April and hopefully painted by around May and ready for a birthday cruise to Texas to visit the family. Afterwards, Alot of suspension upgrades are incoming. Color I am going with is final and is Artic White with Red or Black 25th Stripes (Gonna let my family decide).
