i have two( actually i think 3) of these monster trucks. INDECTRUCTABLE!! hit a tree doing probably about 30 with it only hitting the rf tire, no damage!
Thats awesome!! I might just pic up that maro body to replace my R34 shell... I love these things, they're fast as hell... I have a 7 turn motor in the blue skyline, blew the gearing up front... haha.. The GTR has a belt driven 10 turn that was originally on the f-430... I screw around with emm every now and then - usually sedated with a few buddys of mine, haha...
We used to have these mini-z R/C cars.. You could modify a plastic model as a body.. We used NASCAR models on the F1 bodies.. I don't know if they still make Mini-Z though..

It's quite a big job to get it looking like that It comes as clear plastic and pinstripes were used (a lot) and the light buket were made by using the lid of 2 packets of Marlboro Lights and foil.
Used to be big time into xmods, and other higher scale vehicles as well as modeling. You can easily make yourself a 3rd gen xmod that you can drive around your house. Maybe this winter I"ll get around to building it to the 3rd gen Iron I'm trying to replicate my car with. Just locate a 3rd gen model and go to custom mounting with plexiglass and etc.
I did a 4th gen Trans Am model to an xmod with full detailed interior. Fun to do but just tkaes a while.
Heres some pictures so you can see just what you can do with these, and the price won't be too expensive, and you can still drive it around your house.

I've got this one sitting on top of my monitor right now. Never have painted it. I've sold all of my rc cars now but some day I'd like to paint this body to match my Camaro then moch up some minimal chassis under it just so it looks like its real.

As far as simple r/c toys goes, Radio Shack used to sell an r/c Camaro - I've collected 2-3 of them. They were simple $40 toys, 27 and 49 Mhz.
If it's 3rd gen Camaro, I've got it. Hot wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning. I just got a few Transformer 3rd gen Camaros last week. Darda made pull-backs about the size of a Matchbox car. I've also got electric slot cars - there were about 6 made that I know of, and there was a slot car set that featured Camaro's that I got And I think I have a Micro Machine 3rd gen as well. Over the years I've collected cigarette lighters, watches, necklace pendants, key rings, models - all kinds of junk - all 3rd gen Camaro. I even have a 3rd gen Camaro pillow!
About twice a week I spend a couple hours scouring ebay for 3rd gen Camaro items. I'll dig 'em out and get ya a pic maybe Saturday and post it here.

As lame as it may sound, but would you be willing to take a few pics of your collection?? haha... I've been starting my own and would love to see all thats out there... Mine is miniscule in comparison, but I have found some cool things so far - all randomly... After leaving a casino late one night, I stopped at a 7-11 to pick up a pack of smokes and sitting there on the shelf by the counter was a 1:18th scale Blue 85 IROC... Made me forget the hundreds of dollars I lost a few blocks down, haha...

Uhm
40 dollar xmods
Plexiglass,epoxy, other etc 20$
Model body 18$
Its not that easy just to pop on you have ot make cusotm mounts with plexi glass and extend the chasis. I got a hold of a 3rd gen on ebay for about 15 bucks just have yet to get aorund to cleaning some of my other projects up to start it. I didn't have ot pay for materials as I already had them from left over projects.
Here's a link to a PhotoBucket album I created with pics and descriptions of my "toy collection" - if you click each photo to make full size, you'll see the descriptions I've made:
So you cannot just put a the body shell on any body since i have a tamiya 1/10th scale with a mustang shell but would love to put a thirdgen camaro on it.
By the way camaronewbie that is a nice collection you have
Aw man I'm happy I found this lol. I used to be really into nitro R/C cars as well. I got my first one when I was 12 (Traxxas Sportmaxx). Then I got another one when I was around 14 (Traxxas Jato). I'm 18 now. I slowly started losing interest at around the time I got my driver's license (16) and now they're just sitting in my garage collecting dust. I got my thirdgen (91 trans am convertible) last August and with that there's no way I could afford to spend any money on my RCs lol. I used em probably once or twice last summer though lol. I dunno if I should sell em. If I ever get back into them, I'm definitely buying a thirdgen camaro or firebird body for them. An r/c thirdgen monster truck would be cool haha.
you guys should join my friends forum page NitroCarnage theres all kinds of topics with focus on rc cars he just started the page and is trying to get more users

Wow! Thats awesome! Is that body the one from the model kit they made?
yes, i used the body, dash from the Camaro. the driver, seat, rear axle (narrowed), rear wheels, misc parts, were from the Tamyia (sp?) blazing blazer. I hinged the rear window/deck lid to open up for access to the gas tank, and r/c batteries, there was a plug on the tailpanel to plug in to charge the r/c batteries, a switch on the dash to turn on the reciever. I tried for realistic as opposed to fast, though it would run about 40 real MPH. Did all that to get my mind off of my back surgery. Won second place in a NM state fair model car show against VERY well detailed static models, includind a couple 1/8th Camaro's. Still have the car, i'm thinking about redoing it only nicer.
