Well, my car arrived today. I bought it off a board member, and had it shipped from Miami. It's an '88 GTA, 305TPI with a 5-speed manual trans, BW 9-bolt rear w/disc, digital dash, leather, and pretty much every option available. It does need some work, but that's to be expected with a 20 year old car. Overall it's in pretty good shape, and complete. It's running pretty rich at the moment, I'm still trying to get that sorted. I need to get some better pics, I took these in a hurry while I was working on it today.
The car is actually running so rich, that at some point it exploded the muffler. I wish I had been there for that, I bet it made a hell of a sound:

Car looks great. Those are my favorite 3rd gens. Gotta love the digital dash, thats so 80's.
You dont happen to know if the member you bought it off of had been modifying it? Because if they swapped in bigger injectors, or an AFPR, without the proper tuning, it might run really rich.
As for the muffler, well it looks like it was a shitty stock exhaust anyway. This will just give you a reason to upgrade to someting nicer like a Hooker Aerochamber. That would be the perfect exhaust for that car!

As far as I can tell, the engine is all stock, except for the cold air intake. I haven't yet run the numbers on the injectors, to make sure they are 19# ones. I'm having some ECM trouble at the moment, I think it's running on limp mode, but the SES light is not working so I can't be sure. I haven't decided on exhaust yet, but I will probably just get a stock muffler put in for now, so it will pass inspection. I plan to put all new exhaust and headers on it, just need to save up some more cash.
Wow...thats a great looking GTA. Looks like you got yourself a good car! If all you need to do to her is figure out a rich condition and maybe a couple other odds and ends, Ide say you are in good shape!!
Is the dash fully functional? No burnt out segments or display back lighting?
As far as I can tell the gauges all work fine. I haven't noticed any burned out segments either. I did pick up a spare digital cluster just in case though. Once I get the car running better I'll get some better pics too, it's a little crowded in the driveway at the moment.
