New beater, 92 JY firebird 3.1

picked it up a few months ago, never got around to taking any pics but here it is. Its a 92 firebird, 3.1 auto, tan interior and all stock with 73k miles, and it runs and drives like new. The front seats were recovered professionally, not sure why, but the rest of the car in in great shape. the body is straight, only 1 little rust bubble ahead of the wheel on the front passenger side fender. The underside is 95% rust free, a little surface rust on one of the drain plugs, and some on the bottom of the pinch rail, but its all just light surface rust, no rot. Never been in an accident, and the front bumper and gfx are almost perfect, which was the selling point. All original paint with a handful of small rock chips. Bought from the original owner, and its been garage kept since new. I even have the origional window sticker, owners manual, warrenty packets, salesman cards and stuff.

My camera seems to be dying, as the quality of the pics is starting to really suck, but these are decent

damn pic limit!!!

its a shame it has such a crappy set of wheels, the only part i dont like.

it even came with brand new rotors, pads, drums and shoes installed. All i had to do was change the passengerside door seal.

so i have plans for the car, but for now its the new beater to take some miles of the truck.

drive it until it blows up or i get bored with it. Then rip it appart and build a large single turbo lsx to swap in. Probably going to be a street strip car. Im trying to save for a house, so most likely nothing will happen to this one for quite some time.

Dont really like the rims or the weird antenna, but the rest of the car looks really nice. The yellow looks good and the rest of the car looks really nice.

yeah, i hate the rims with a passion, but they have brand new tires, so i will deal with them for now. The antenna is retarded, but i havent had time to get a different one.

Re: New beater, 92 JY firebird 3.1

The wheels scream butt rock, but otherwise it is very nice. Should put a big ol' turbo on the 3.1 and see how long it lasts. Could be fun....

Haha, I was having a brain Fart. I didn't pay much attention to the title. When I saw it I figured it was a JunkYard beater... My bad.

Does looks good though. Should be a nice DD.

yup! the car was from Delaware, so it never had a front plate. I didnt want to drill holes in the nose, so i used the under mount hideaway like on the 86. Worked out pretty well.

search the history/resto fourm, thereis a thread there with most the info. 92's are more rare in that color because it was a half year. Base birds like mine, are "rarer" couple hundred made from what i've found, but the formy's/TA/GTA cars are really low production.

nope, its parked in the winter, i start DD'ing my truck once the first snow/salt happens. Not going to undercoat the car.

I have since swapped the wheels for black gta crosslaces and done some other suspension/braking related work, but havent had time to get pictures.
