Hatch Convertion Complete. Photoshoot. (56K stay away)

Well Guys, I have finally completed converting my 1988 GTA notchback into a standard GTA hatch and wrap around. You cannot even tell anything was touched, that's how good I pulled it off. I had some problems with the Hawks fiberglass spoiler, but I will write a review for that in the right section when I am done with this thread. I just got the spoiler back from paint on Thursday. The line of buildings in the rear pics is the Vegas strip.

Yes, the third brake and the defroster both work, just like factory. I had to use struts that were meant for a spoiler-less firebird because the fiberglass one is so light.

I don't get why people don't like the pop up lamps. When you have nice bright white lamps in them (I have sylvania silverstars in the head and fog lamps), and the motors work good, they look AMAZING

Actually....It's very obvious it has been changed. Or at least, 1 of 2 changes were made. I'm sure you know what I'm referring to.

When you gonna change the other parts out to finish a full conversion?

Re: Hatch Convertion Complete. Photoshoot. (56K stay away)

Well the only thing I can think of are the back seats, and I don't know if I am going to do anything with those. When I am going to re cover my seats I may think about it. The ones that are in there now are mint so it doesn't need it. What I meant by that you couldn't tell anything was changed was that I put it together as good or better that it would have come from the factory. I spent some time looking for all the little strut trim covers and the panel on the hatch, Who is even going to know the back seats are different. I think the TTA came with the split seats too. Thanks for the compliment 87

The rear seats are exactly what I was referring to.

Just seeing the car, either the seats were changed, or the hatch.

Re: Hatch Convertion Complete. Photoshoot. (56K stay away)

If you would have seen that hatch you would have to. It needed to be sanded down, maybe some fiberglass put on it and repainted. To be honest with you I did not like the look of it, I did not like looking at the car from the side with it on there. Why would I spend the money on something I don't like? Now it looks good from every angle and I am extremely happy with it. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It's not like the notch backs are worth more that regular GTA's anyways, the hatch is worth more off the car than on it.

You did a good job on the swap, looks good. It's your car and you did what you wanted with it. Prefer the notch though. Also...sure right now they are worth the same...your not thinking into the future though. So hold on to that notchback you took off.
