New paint will work wonders, can't wait to see the finished product. What color?

Not really sure yet. Probably black or blue. Nothing to fancy, probably just some acrylic enamal with a poly top coat. Did that to my last car and it turned out pretty decent. The interior is blue.

Re: 84 Trans Am Project - PureRockFury

Off to a slow start. weather here is off and on, warm and cold.
the motor was a 305 originally.

the first thing I did was new hood shocks and rear hatch supports.... wooohooo no more prop stick !!!

I knew there was a problem with the rear end. Took it apart and I need an axle.

Re: 84 Trans Am Project - PureRockFury

My July 1st update :

I sold the motor that was in the car for $500, so I ended up with a free car.

I have purchased a motor from a friend of mine. Motor has less than 20 passes on it. Was in a tubbed out s10 and went 11.15 in the qtr on race fuel. with NOS ??? I got the motor at a good price. I know the guy that built it. So im excited !!

406 Roller, forged, Balanced, Mini starter, Dart heads, .630 lift cam, 1050 quick fuel carb, Big Shot NOS 200-400hp

I have a set of Hooker SC headers, New Holley HP125 elec.fuel pump, Weiand team G waterpump and some other little stuff.

I will have to redo all the suspension I think before I will feel safe driving this car with the a 406. I have to get it rolling pretty soon though. Im buying a tourqe converter and will have to get a couple of mufflers which I will just dump before the rear axle.

Im not sure about the 700r4 cuz ive never had one. So I guess im going to rock with it for awhile untill I decide what the heck im doing. My rearend gears stink that much I know. I will just get her rolling safe, do the suspension and some sanding. figure out later what im going to do with the transmission and rear end.

Hopefully within a month the motor will be in !!!!

If that motor is that stout it will destroy a stock 700R4 on one good throttle stomp.

I seriously consider downsizing the carb to something in the 750-850 area, thats alot of carb thats on there, Looks like a fun project!
