Slow89Iroc, idler arm to frame bolts
are 61 ft-lbs, and the idler arm to
centerlink (intermeadiate rod) nut is
35 ft-lbs, as far as installation try
and scribe the location of the old one
on the frame before you remove it so
you can try and install the new one in
the same position, if not you will have
to adjust for the correct height of the
idler arm, in relation to the
centerlink, if you have a manuel there
is instuctions on this procedure. it is
not to difficult, but if you can replace
the idler arm in the same position you
should be ok. As for grease I just used
a good lube grease, you know in the tube
I am sure there are different types,
depends how much you want to spend.

the bolt that goes into the lower control
arm is where you put the socket on, then on
the control arm is a flat spot put there
just for this purpose thats where you put
the straight edge, it should come across
just below the socket, then measure the
distance between the staight edge and the
socket as it sets on the bolt, start on the
drivers side, the flat is near the pitman
arm, then do the pass. side the flat is near
the idler arm, that is the side that is
adjustable by moving idler arm up or down
accordingly, both sides should be within
1mm, hope that helps some.
or like i did, if you look at the idler arm
itself it should be bolted to a mount, that
mount is removable with the arm still
attached, then on the bench you can mark
the position of the arm on the mount, then
remove the arm and install the new one and
replace the mount, this worked really well
and centerlink position was right on.
i just did this about a month ago and have
had no probs, got alignment drives great!!
