That's all fine and dandy, but I've had a friend try this recently. No go. So if its to work, it needs to be well documented.
Rob
well gee.... it worked for me and several others. maybe your friend is a turd and don't know what he's talking about in the first place?
when you go scope out the numbers place and get someone that looks like they know wtf a car is and you should be good to go. even if you have to pass your number walk up to him and say I was in the bathroom and they will hold you there until the next person is done. don't be an A$$hole about it either or act like a dumb fvck.
they were like "Like the GTO's that they don't make anymore?"
Me "Yes"
them "Here's your tags"
of course i got mine in 03 when they first changed the law so it's been awhile and what they ment by the GTO comment was that they were coming back out. i think i was one of the first on TGO with historic tags on a third gen.
If you ask me, it sounds like the person you delt with was not following protocall. I don't think we will all be that lucky. My typical experieance at the MVA is that they make sure that all you I's are dotted and all your T's are crossed. In my opinion, they look for a reason to deny you.
So to recap, until they change the form VR-096 so the first box to check says 20 calendar years instead of 25 calender years, I'm gonna get all my ducks in a row before I try.

the dude that did mine actually went to a supervisor to make sure but he went to bat for me and i walked out with them. this was when they first changed the law
Nope, just gettin' damm good at this intronet thing.
Oh, I remember the problem my buddy had. The morron at Frederick MVA said that the chev was the make and chevy still makes cars. If you all look at your title it does not say camaro. At least as far as I can remember. I think mine says 2dr on two and cnv on the other for model description. I'm telling you all these people that work there are not rocket scientists. The are like computers, they can only excecpt the correct command. If it don't compute they reject.
