Also for tips for a newbie to the drift scene, you gotta make sure you get your practice in a safe manner, although it can be learned quick, practicing it can be real dangerous, sense more and more tracks are recognizing it we can go out and practice more while keeping the neighorhoods safe! Start out with whatever you have, thats what your used to, and let you be the judge of when its time to move on and what parts you need. but also be open to advice that people who drive a similar car suggest setup wise, they have probably learned some lessons and can give you some useful knowelge!

The videos were pretty cool and it was cool to see a thirdgen making passes..........but I don't get the whole drifting thing. What's cool about seeing who can smoke their tires the fastest around a track?

Re: Camaro makin an impact on the drift scene!

well, car control in any form is interesting to watch, we demonstrate it in all of our forms of racing, regarudless of the title, the fans tell us what they want to see and we go out there and do it the best we can! the goal is differnt for differnt drivers, some of us want to go fast, some of us just want to smoke, some want to go as sideways as posible, others all three, and some just want to see accidents. i dont really know what else to say other than if you enjoy watching it keep watchin and try and learn somethin, and if you dont enjoy watching it show us how its done!!!

Re: Camaro makin an impact on the drift scene!

Zack, been watching you for a while now. Even know you from a few sites like D1U. Anyway just wanted to state your awesome, you got skills and hope you can bring what we are missing here at TGO to life. We have a few drifters like z28evans (Bubba Drift), soultron, crazyhawaiian etc. and they also has been getting deep into our 3rd gens. I to will be using my camaro to drift but will take me some time as I am a one man show with a one man paycheck (and it doesn't help wanting nothing but the best when buying parts for my car). Anyway just glad to hear our cars are getting out there and with great respect. I plan to bring a new style to drifting as I see you are as well (Your infamous mid drift 360's)

Take care Zack, lastly, talk with BMR about getting new 1" extended a-arms built for us? We talked about getting these done and you were brought up since you modded your a-arms from 2 for an extension that I'm sure aided in getting more angle. So yeah....

Re: Camaro makin an impact on the drift scene!

I'm happy to see that there are people out there still holding it down for Camaro drifting. I used to drift my camaro back when I had one. Got my car and face into a few import magazines (got a shot of my car in Car&Driver once too). It really seems like you got your suspension settings set up pretty good for drift. I ended up leaving the drift scene (well the whole car modding thing completely) before I ever had the chance to tune my car right. Thankfully though CrazyHawaiian owns the car now and he'll take the time to get it down.

Re: Camaro makin an impact on the drift scene!

hey man nice drifting! its really awesome to see a third gen camaro competing in drifting. ive been drifting mine for the past four years but its far from competition level. (blown shocks, auto, open diff....) now has blown motor.. im savin up a bunch of grands to do a bunch at once since i can never afford to buy stuff for it when its running since its always broken somehow n gas...... but anyway i recognized a few cars in the hyperfest vid like the rated d pink s13 n the blue kouki s14 with pink/white wheels that have been to the psu oval. so i was wondering if you heard of driftpa.com and the oval we drift at here in state college pa? itd be sweet if youd come drift up here sometime, its just a banked oval and def not as sweet as summit point but maybe if its on your way to some other track. i should have a new motor/tranny/rearend/suspension in mine by next summer

Drifting aint racing, it's figure skating with hot rods. But that has an appeal and coolness all on its own.

I love that Z28 though. Very cool looking car. Has a great stance and an interesting exhaust...
