Re: Richmond,Va anyone?

I've got an '86 IROC, black, 305 TPI. Don't drive it as much as I used to but I still like to get it out when it's warm enough to take the t-tops out.

I'm getting too old to enjoy really running it hard (last time I had it up to 120 or so on the interstate messing with a BMW 740i the little voice in the back of my head kept telling me to slow down) anymore but I still get a kick out of messing with the high dollar foreign cars on the ramps.

I keep saying I'm going to build an engine for my other '86 IROC (red) but I always find something else to spend my money on.

Howdy. I have a black 89 Formula. It's my fun car so you'll only see me on the weekends or some sunny afternoons. My plate is "NOT KITT" 'cause I'm sick of the comparison. I'm around the Chesterfield airport area.

I usually wave at any 3rd gen I see, like seeing distant family members.

Re: Richmond,Va anyone?

Anyone recall seeing a black IROC with Ontario plates around Midlothian? I get to Fredericksburg once a year at the end of May and have been around the Richmond area a couple of times. Shopping for a Camaro actually. ( Anyone know a big guy named Peanut?) It would be cool to meet with some 3rd gen folks when I'm there this year.

Hi all! I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 92 RS vert and am looking forward to doing some minor and major fixes to it although it's in decent shape. I'm in Brandermill on the south side of Richmond. Anyone want to come over and help me do some wrenching? Just kidding but I'm sure I'll be looking for some advice and tapping into your expertise as time goes on.

Re: Richmond,Va anyone?

I'll be near Fredericksburg for a week from the 8th to the 15th.
Looking for a cruise night (even as far as Richmond).
What I'm really looking for is a quality dealer for a pair of new rear tires. I'd like to get a couple of Fuzion ZRi (245/50/16) so as to keep a matching set.
Anyone have any suggestions as to a reputable dealer?
Thanks.

The tow truck is a possibility. When I picked up my coupe a few years back, it was in a towing company's impound lot and "Peanut" worked out of their office. He was a BIG guy.
I can't speak for an S-10 though. He seemed a little on the large side for a compact truck.

I think we may be talking about the same guy. really big guy and bald. I wanna say its edwards towing maybe. Super super nice guy. I talked to him alot a while back at the track and when he towed cars to my shop. His S10 is a 406 SBC and i think runs low 11s or high 10s. It moves out. I havnt seen him in about a year or so.

Well, if you ever see him again, ask him if his brother sold a Gunmetal gray Sport Coupe to a guy from Canada. That would have been three years ago.
It's on the road and running mid 12's. I drive it to Virginia every year (Fredericksburg area).

Yeah man, that's me. Got the car up on stands and the gas tank sitting on the floor. Think I may have gotten a faulty pump, working thru that w/ Walbro.

On a side note, my girlfriend saw a clean black TA with gold wheels around Martin's on Saturday, anybody know who that might be (since we are a rare breed..)?

that sucks about the pump. a buddy of mine helped me tune the carb on mine and its running 100% better. i had a branch hit the quarter panel in the hurricane, lucky its only the side of a baseball. still needs painted anyway. i moved here about a year ago, i love the area, only seen your car once or twice tho. did you ever see a green 91/92 350/auto gta running around this area? i had it then sold it to my friend that lives down the street, but he sold it too. ive seen it on craigslist since then

I remember that guy from the sports park car shows. I saw him driving the 3rd gen for a short while and then he started driving a 4th gen of the same color. He & I used to get on 288 at the some time in the morning; I'd try and keep up but my Honda just wasn't having any of that.

If you have any vehicular emergencies and you need a covered work space, I have a two-car garage and a couple helping hands. I'm down the road in the Brentwood subdivision.

Re: Richmond,Va anyone?

I'm in Culpeper, about 45 mins west of Fredricksburg.. working on getting my 91Z running. Going to start a Virginia Z28 club, maybe have some get togethers.. I'm planning on doing a cruise to somewhere like Cumberland, MD.. the drive is awesome. Start off in Fredricksburg, go to Madison, then over the mountain then over to 211 then over the next mountain over to 81 then north to I-70 then over to Cumberland and spend the night then come back the next day... it's a beautiful drive.

Re: Richmond,Va anyone?

I used to drive across 211 from Warrenton to I81 every couple of weeks back in the mid 70's. Beautiful drive and always fun. Another fun stretch of road (but farther away) was the section of old Rt. 60 between Lexington and Clifton Forge, VA. Sometimes I get off I81 onto Rt. 11 north of Lexington, then at Vesuvius I take a right onto (darn, just went brain dead and can't remember the Rt. number....56 east maybe???) and go up the mountain to the parkway and drive it up to I 64 on top of Afton Mountain. Driving Rt. 60 from Richmond to Lexington is fun, too.

I'm starting to wonder if there are any other Z28 or IROC in Hopewell where I'm living at now

Re: Richmond,Va anyone?

Hi, there are a few of us. ScottyRock is in Cattlet (outside of Manassas) and i'm in Culpeper. We are planning on starting a club soon, do some road trips and basically hang out or maybe work on our cars.
