need a v8 t5 - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

im looking for a v8 t5 5 speed. the v6 t5 with a 350 just doesnt cut it. the clutch setup is hard to come by, the pressure plate is weak and the clutch slips when i mash on it. the thing is im low on funds so any used ones would be fine. id rather it be in good shape though. any offers appreciated. thinking ill trade the v6 setup or keep it as backup.

I have a good t-5 if you are interested. it came out of an 84 Z28 carbed 305 car. tranny is good with some wear on the synchroes. probally could use a new clutch too but the one with it was working fine when I pulled it. second gear is a little tight but that is about it. I have all parts to go with it. so whatever you want/need let me know.

sounds good, i'll probably get a new clutch kit for it and i have the bell housing, fork, bearing. i just need the trans itself and the mount possibly, if its different from the v6 trans mount. if the shifter is the same i would just keep the one i have or i might need that if its different. when you say tight do you mean hard to shift into second? how much you want for the trans minus clutch and what does that price include and where are you.

I am in Dekalb, IL. Just about 2 miles off of I-88.

as far as price, I would ask $200. I am flexible though. If you want the tranny, everything else with it you can have. no cost.

yes i do want it, but im kind of low on funds right now, how about 150. directions would be good. i could get up there this sunday. let me know what you think.

could you tell me the tag id #, its located on the tail housing, on a tag bolted to it.

$150 is ok with me. sorry I didnt get back to you sooner but I was out of town for the weekend. is this week or weekend ok for you? I work second shift so I will be home in the mornings until around 2:30 pm. otherwise I would have to do it saturday or sunday evening.
