Empire Seven is taking applications now for michigan thirdgen owners who want to be a part of a special display for superchevy and camaro superfest this year. i plan to have a few of my cars in it, send them your info to empireseven@comcast.net
350 carbed build and rebuild the 700 r4, and swap out the 305
Exhaust/Headers
Rear end - posi and better gear.
Body work. I would like to take apart the interior so i can weld some holes on the floor board before they get any worse. And i also have some small arust starting around the rear fender wells, that needs to be taken care of.
Then once the body work is done eventually a repaint.
Right now the car looks good from 30 feet away but when you get up close you notice all the problems
Here is a pic of the car before i put it away 2 years ago. I have since sold the wheels.
Anyone else from the 'Tip of the Mitt'? I am in Petoskey. I moved here about 2 years ago from Houston, Texas with my yellow 87 Formula 350. Still a bit rough but I am working on it slowly but surely.
Oh I brought the family with me to...

BTW. For a small town I see a lot of Third Gens around. I am hoping that there are a few on the board.

Wixom area here! Anyone know some quality body repair men?
Wixom Collision on Beck Rd south of Pontiac Trail. Good work ($).
Austins up in Holley are cheaper and a good place to go if you are into doing some of the grunt work yourself.
I got a car painted at the Maaco in Burton (south of Flint) that I was happy with for a daily driver. I spent 20-30 hours preping it myself mind you. A third what Wixom wanted and half what Austin quoted.
I got a few parts from a 1988 GTA I'm looking to sell or swap off. I do not own an F body so I figured maybe someone here can put them to good use. I got them as part of a parts trade.
I do have a 1969 Buick GS 400 convertible, so I'd trade for parts for any GS from 68-72. I also have a 1947 Diamond T 509 body I could use some parts for. I also could use 12 bolt chevy parts.
What I have to offer is a '88 GTA front bumper cover in nice condition, no cracks and has the parking lights still attached.
Also a factory service manual S-8810-F for same car. Comes with the Electrical Diagnosis Supplement S8810-F-ES
I beat up the asphalt with the tires on Monday and Tuesday, actually. 45 degrees + sun = serious tire smoke in second gear. No traction on that cold pavement. I washed it, put it away and got out the motorcycle . Wow, I haven't been on TGO in over a year! Imagine that.

Well, welcome back then!! I don't think you will have too much success with 400 whp hooking on the street though....

You will find me at the other end of the state. I live just outside of Petoskey. There are about 8-12 third gens in various states of repair. There are even a few gen IIs in the area. Mine is an 87 Formula 350 with the 700r4 transmission. I brought it with me from Texas about 3 years ago. Consequently there is very little rust on it and is good and solid for restoration. Never seen the snow never will.
If i am not at home working on it, you will find me out runnin' the twisties!
Mark -
Metro Detroit Area here, just picked up my 1992 Camaro RS 25th Anniversary. So far I havent seen to many thirdgens around but I got mine late in the year so many of them have probably been put away. I am looking to restore mine and get it better then new!
Warren, Mi here. Just got mine a week or so ago, I am always out driving around. Anyone need help with mechanical or willing to help with bodywork let me know. I'm always up for a cruise or a gathering, drive gratiot now and again, have not made it to Wild Woody's yet (just turned 18) but will probably be there this summer just for grins.

Once the weather breaks make sure you head over to Woodward Ave! Also when May comes around theres a F-Body car show in Kensington Metro park do a search on this site it'll come up and when August rolls around the Woodward Dream Cruise is the place to be! I'm very close to you over in Ferndale my girl actually lives in warren so maybe I'll see ya around.
Wouldn't bother me a bit. I generally cruise up and down the service drive, or go up and down hoover, van dyke or groesbeck. If your girl is in my age bracket I might know her.

No, I know you wouldnt know her, she recently moved there and we are a few years older then 18. But like you I am always down for meeting up to cruise any of the major roads and to meet other thirdgen lovers in the area. Once the weather breaks you will be able to find me on Woodward every night, its like heaven for cars between 12-16 mile road on the weekends. BTW what are you rolling around in?
Gotcha what you mean disagreeing with ya, having some problems? I do not put my car away for the winter as I just got it but it does sit when there's a lot of snow falling or on the ground. But I will have to have it out this weekend as my other car is at the shop...
It won't idle under 3500 RPM and won't drive in OD without flooding itself. Good thing the new carb is already on the way. Whats your other car and why is it in the shop?
Sounds like your having a fun time with that camaro then. My other car is a 99 Altima, I'm getting new tires, alignment and some front end work done. My buddy owns a shop and we have it all tore apart right now tires should be coming in later today and we should finish up the rest of the work tomarrow or sunday...
