I live on the south side of Milwaukee. I have an 87 IROC-Z that looks good for being a 16 year olds car. I autocross it at Miller Park with the Milwaukee region SCCA as often as I can.
The last autocross for the year is going to be Sunday, October 14th. Maybe some of you guys/girls can show up so im not the only one with a 3rd gen.
any of the near green bay guys wanna help me fire over my car?
i am so close but extra help would be great...im near wits end with some of this **** on this car..
yea i go to wir. my brother actually runs his snowmobile down there on the strip. i ran my car only like twice this year before it was painted. was a 91 formula with primer black and red bumpers. just got it all painted up tho. id be interested in cruising with some guys if i dont have to work some weekend.
future mods include... Ram Air II hood, 4th gen center console w/ shifter, new two tone paint, a 91-2 trans am front, and some things I haven't thought of yet.... hehehehe...
WIR = "Wisconsin International Raceway" located in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. (15 min from Appleton)
RSD = "Real Street Drags"
It's a racing event that takes place there the first Friday of every month. The first Friday in October is the 5th. They turn the clocks off (although you still get a time slip) to promote people to race each other. You can go off a flag or give a person spots. It's supposed to be like real street racing. It's a real fun time.
so who wants to help organize. everybody seems within driving disance of rsd night but thats not real get together. it would be fun but i cant run my car down the strip yet. any suggestions?
ok nobody has any idea on what to do so i'll throw a suggestion out there. theres a vacant circuit city building or what used to be circuit city for leasing in green bay. huge parking lot. im sure if i called the # and asked them if we could have a get together like a car show or w/e there it may not be a problem. anyone interested?
I can't. My car runs open headers and isn't licensed as of now (I'm getting collectors plates next summer). I also wouldn't be able to break away from school. Otherwise I would.
I am just northwest of milwaukee. I was hoping someone would get something like you are suggesting together. I hope it happens soon as (1) this is Wisconsin and who knows if the weather will stay nice. and (2) I might have to sell my baby due to money issues. So lets do sumn.
i really wanted to get this together but its gonna take more than one person and as soon as i suggested someone to help me this post kinda died out so..
Then come down to the Autocross at Miller Park. Tocoso is asking me for more info on it so hopefully he can make it, im almost always at them, and I think its a lot more fun that just going out driving together. Plus, no one has to set anything up its more so are you going... yes or no. And it would be great to catch everyone by surprise... I'm the only one there with a thirdgen so if there are all of a suddon like 10 of us show up, its gonna be like holy sh** where did they come from?

I like this guys thinking. His solution prevents all planning and provides friendly competition... who doesnt like that Plus, you dont even have to pay if you just want to come and watch!!
But its a week away, so decide if your coming soon. info can be found at teh posted website or you can contact me and ill try to answer questions as soon as possible.

I'm in wisconsin as well, kaukauna to be exact. I currently have a 92 RS in near mint condition. I only drive it a few miles a year, well more like 3000 or so, but thats about it.
As for your club or get together, one person is going to have to take the reigns and go with it, it will never work if you rely on trying to please everybody. Don't expect help, people will want to show up and have fun, but they will not want to be part of the planning. If you can't make a decision on your own and stick to it, you are wasting your time. Just pick a date and a location and stick to it and go with it. if you are going to plan for food, decide what it will be and thats it, come up with a cover charge for anybody that wants to eat and have them bring their own beverages. Don't try to make money on it, as you will only be shooting yourself in the foot. If you can supply food for $5 a head, great, you will get more people. About a month or so before the date have everybody RSVP whether they will be attending or not, so you can get a rough head count for food. You will need to plan for extras, as their will always be those that show up but didn't tell you they were going to. If you can collect the money in advance , great, otherwise be prepared to collect as soon as people get there, otherwise you will be left holding the check.
I have done this other times for a club I started for older muscle cars, it works and its not that hard. No, I will not do it this time as I am in the process of starting the first chevelle club in wisconsin and don't need to try to do two at once.
