Hey all, just me again checking to see if anyone needs a hand or if there are any get together's being planned. Have not had much time to work on the 91 due to selling this house and getting ready to move into the nest one, but winter is coming and I have the garage at the new house to play in. Talk to you all later.
Cool, I know I will be needing a hand this fall/winter with a few things. Peoria huh? Wife is from Chilli...Need to take her back there to Carlos O'Kelly's for lunch and Emo's for some ice cream lol.
ahh yes emos lol. me and my brother when we lived in peoria heights used to just walk to emos almost every night. i live about 15 miles outside chilli. my girlfriend is from there. actually on the outskirts of peoria. bout 10 miles out in the middle of nowhere lol.
I'm a little north of you. I'm in the process of rebuilding an 89 RS. Making it a touring car. Not sure if I need build help, but I'm always looking for parts. I am currently in search of a 90 degree bellhousing for an 11 inch clutch with the slave cylinder mounting brakets. Here's a link to what I've been doing. Thanks. http://s794.photobucket.com/albums/yy226/cvz6977
I'm in Elk Grove Village, 10 minutes from Ohare Airport. Anywho, why is it that we don't have more meets in IL? I know of Downers Grove at hooters on the 19th, and I'll probably be there, but why is it that we see get togethers once every three months? I don't see enough third gens by me. I've seen two in the past month. This eats.
Just bought a 1989 Z-28 that has a few mods done to it. I'm in Des Plaines. I am moving at the end of the month so the car is still at the guy's house I bought it from. When I get her home I will list all the things that were modified. Any clubs in the area??
Thanks
Nikki
I see a lot of third gens driving around out here in elgin, some are pretty nice. I have a couple of buddies that have third gens as well. I think some local area clubs or meets would be really welcome about now. I've been searching, but with little success. If you find something, give a shout, I'd be down for sure.
Nice car, whats wrong with it? I'm in south elgin, probably about an hour and a half away.
its over heating and cant get it to stop .. i was wanting to plan a get together show /cruse here at a loco park before the weather turns bad but to look like i am going to make that happen
I'm sure you tried some of the more obvious possible solutions like the thermostat, hoses, heater core and water pump. Have you done any mods that could have created the issue? Are your heads and block flowing properly?
Hello, my name is Sidney Hart.
My friend and I have decided to start a thirdgen club for anyone that owns a 82-92 Camaro or Trans Am in southern Illinois or around are area. We have started a myspace page so when there is a car show in the area we can let everyone know when and where it is. we would really like to see more and more thirdgens show up at the car shows. Hey whats up im not far from you up here in plano, the Chicago northwest Indiana boards, try to get stuff going too. I posted about the morris show coming up you should swing out, Im going to try to get my 92 moving again, if not im going to enter my Nova.
hey might be a stupid emissions question, but today in my auto class someone said that i was lucky that i dont have to pass any sort of emissions test, and that only 94+ have to. is this true? i live in cook county. my cars an 87 Trans Am 350.
on another note, i wish there was more stuff going on north east of Chicago, seems everyone down south is having all the fun
Yeah like 94 and older illinois doesnt require testing, if you do get a notice you have to test that final time then nothing after that. .. from what I understand I been in an emissionless county for 5 years now
ok all you il guys... especially from the north part of the state...my buddy who is a forth gen guy turned me onto this cruise and im gonna check it out. it looks awesome and a lot of fun, but it seems like a forthgen fest so ill be out in my project gta and i hope a lot of you will join me for this and represent the third gens! check it out...http://www.fallcruise.org/
Dixon, IL, reporting in. Currently OUT of a 3rd gen, the RS was a MASSIVE fail. Huge holes in the floor, brakes completely shot, v6 backfired like crazy, overheating, as well as cosmetic issues to match. Ugh. But, it was only $200, and I ditched it before I began any real work (AKA any real spending.) I'm back on the boards because I ran into about $1800 cash that begs to be converted into a Firebird.
Hey Morris, hope all well down in the corn country. I'm here in Aurora, and have been going to a few Cruises and Shows here in the Fox Valley. Maybe the 3rd Gen's in northern part of Illinois can get together somewhere except Chicago next summer. I finally got my 85 Camaro going great for about a year now. There are a just few 3rd Gen's around here that are nice. Keep us posted if you come up with something.
"The Old Hillbilly".
I've heard of some of the shows over there, but haven't got around to going. There are a couple of organizations that put on cruises and show around here during the summer weekly. I know one of them pretty well so I'll talk to him about what it takes to get a Camaro/Firebird get-together setup for next year. I'm not very good at organizing. Let you all know if I come up with anything. Maybe someone else in the area has a better Idea.
I am from Champaign. The club idea sounds cool I was going to look for one when i got my license to drive around with and do shows along with.
