Rearend Gear Swap

Hello,
I will be posting this in both boards that serve the Chicago area. I have a 1989 Camaro that has a 4th gen rear end in it. It also has 4:11 gears. Now, since I am not interested in racing this car, I will be willing to swap gears with someone local so that I can actually use the car. Looking for something like 3:43, if you are interested please let me know.
Thanks
Nikki

Re: Rearend Gear Swap

not worth the cost associated with it to trade. Personally I wouldn't use a set of used gears either, not at how cheap 10 bolt gear sets are compared to the labor to install them.

Re: Rearend Gear Swap

if your asking to just swap out the ring and pinion i wouldnt waste my time. nobody would or shouldnt bother with that trade. like x said its just not worth it. if you really cant stand the gear id suggest trying to sell the entire rear and look for a true 3rd gen rear with the right gear. if it works out you should come out even. or you could see if someone wants to trade the entire rear asembly. still a lot of work but less headaches than a gear swap. if you buy a new one will you need a 4th gen rear or a 3rd gen rear? im assuming if you have a 4th gen now you have the appropriate rims? if you do buy a 3rd gen rear youll need to think about new wheels or ick, spacers. fyi
