Camaro Corral at the Woodward Dream Cruise 2014!
Good afternoon everyone,
Chevrolet is sponsoring a Camaro Corral at the Woodward Dream Cruise 2014 this August 16th. I've been asked to coordinate with all of the various Camaro groups to help spread the word about the corral.
The Camaro Corral will be located just south of I-696 in Pleasant Ridge right along Woodward Avenue. We are going to have space for 150 Camaros!!!
Parking will be absolutely free, but because we anticipate more interest than spots we're asking folks to please RSVP if you would like a spot so we can add you to our list. The first 150 folks who sign up will be guaranteed a spot prior to 10am. Anyone who does not arrive before 10am may lose their spot if we have anyone who shows up and wants to park.
People will be allowed to come and go as they please, so if you want to take a quick cruise there won't be any issues.
All participants will get some swag from Chevrolet as a Thank You for participating -- a Hot Wheels car (the toy, not the 2013 model ), a Fat Head, and a poster!
If you are interested, please reply to this thread and let me know. Additionally, we do have a Facebook event page which has been created for helping to spread the word: https://www.facebook.com/events/1433882976897634/?ref=4
Please help spread the word so we can fill all 150 spots and have one heck of a display of Camaros on behalf of Chevrolet!!!

Let GM know I'll be hanging out with the Mustang guys, since they'll be getting my money from now on.

Re: Camaro Corral at the Woodward Dream Cruise 2014!
Some possibly bad news has come down the chain -- due to the bad weather we received on Monday night, the main (largest) park which the Camaro Corral planned to use is currently a lake. It's unlikely that the one park will be usable on Saturday for the Dream Cruise - the grass will be too wet and Pleasant Ridge will not let us park in the park if they're concerned about us damaging the lawn. What this means is that tentatively we have parking for only 50-75 Camaros while having 140 names on the list. We're working with the City of Pleasant Ridge to try and see if we can use parks north of the ones we used at BBOMG last year. Unfortunately we just can't compensate for the poor weather we had on Monday night and the further monsoon on Tuesday.
That said - I do have a list with 150 spaces. I cannot guarantee that there will be 150 spaces available on Saturday. At this point it's going to be "First come, first serve if you're on the list." I won't give the spots away to just anyone - you must be on the reservation list to get in. But once the spots are full, I'm unfortunately going to have to turn people away. I mentioned the possibility of changing venues, but I think right now we're going to try to stick with Pleasant Ridge.
So here's the deal: If you get on the reservation list and show up to the Corral, I will still give you your swag you were supposed to receive. When it gets to the point that I have to turn people away, I'm personally and unofficially (IE: not Chevrolet) recommending folks go to the Kingswood Plaza lot on the northeast side of Square Lake Rd and Woodward Ave where the Staples store is located. Like Pleasant Ridge, it's outside of the "core" area of the cruise but you get a lot of traffic going by. Kingswood Plaza is also a big parking lot and it's first come first serve as well, but since people will be getting to the Corral early I'm assuming we'll be full by 9am and can direct people north to Kingswood.
Unfortunately that's the best I can do at this point.
