Shawn will no doubt have to run your car. By the way, he's looking at an '88 GTA w/LS1 swap, he might have even purchased by now....
No more looking...Pulled the trigger on the deal tonight.. Hardtop...White...Tan Cloth ..88 GTA...Worst case scenario I blow the Ls1 to high Heaven...I have a very stout Gn motor lurking in the garage that would Find it's way right in there.
Should be a fun little toy.
Let the modding Begin!!!...H/C/spray...Or H/C/And my buddies Maggie on it...
Oh...Rob,Hunt me down a steering wheel...That is the only part of the entire interior that needs attention.

I'd much rather be stroked first... then blown. Wouldn't you?
Thanks Rob...You should say that....you managed to talk me into it over the last few days...
^ Already has an LS6 intake, just let Tony Mamo velocity port it (Fast 90/90 is overrated), NW Throttle Body, AFR heads & Bret Bauer Camshaft, and you'll never go back to the Turbo Buick engines....
Should have the steering wheel shortly for ya....

<smack talk/>
lets just hope i dont break it again before the event my first outing is next weekend at island dragway
We are takeing our GTO to Neverlift in the AM for Leo and Bob to do the 10 point cage(we have a 6 point now) so WE can run in the 9s and Not have the track break our Balls.....Frank
Hmmm looks like I'm gonna have to paint "cloudy" to keep up with these cute cars. Should I put some gel in my hair too?
This is gonna be a great time. I'll be ready and tuned for sure. What kinda of racing rules will there be? Standard NHRA? I may be running rather fast...
I'm sure it's going to run a lot faster than that though. Frank's got something up his sleeve I bet! Any man who recognizes the 454 as the Chevy engine clearly doesn't fool around. There are engines, and then there are engines....

just dyno tuned..may have broke something...i'm not sure what but i got some weird sounds coming from rear motor/tq converter or something at idle and only at idle. i gotta check it out.
but the good news is the car will run alot better at the track, the tune was off in the midrange so i fattened it up so i should be alot quicker in the 1/8th and 60 foots
Glen, considering the amount of cars that will more than likely show up, we might just rent the track out for the day, as opposed to just going one day and asking them if they can squeeze us in and race each other. We're headed there tonight and we're going to talk to a few of the guys we know that work there. So far the majority is wanting it to happen sometime in October, lemme know how the NYTG feels with a date....

My wife has my LS1 Trans Am tonight, and the '86 isn't on the road (if I can get it done in the next few hours, different story). Gonna ask Shawn if I can take a ride with him, as I already spoke to Paul (not TB Paul) @ E-Town. He said he can give us our own lanes, but it has to be on a day where nothing big is taking place though. A lot of our guys won't be ready until October (remember, we're builtnot bought lol), so we'll have to agree on a day that's good for everyone....
Heads up racing, run what ya brung. Meet up in the pits and start pairing everyone up. Best of two out of three races wins. Trying to get the food/drinks and camera work figured out now, as the racing is the easy part. We need two camera's for both parties, and two guys who know how to film good. Film both lanes in the burn out box up close, then stage, then we only need one camera after that to film the actual run. Working out the particulars tonight, but it should be a very fun and exciting day....

Thats Fine with Us We Like the Cool weather.....Frank
Update: Spoke to a few guys over at tech tonight, a lot of activity was bumped from the beginning of the season to later on because of the rainy weather a few months back. We're looking at October 25th as the day that this will be going down, as although there's a Corvette Challenge that day, depending on the second session, we could probably get it on in the early afternoon. Heh, turns out that our buddy from tech owns a kick @ss '88 GTA, so you know who he'll be running with that day....

wow man that will give me PLENTY of time to get stuff done to this car to make it 'ready'
found out i'm not broke down today. Just loose converter/flexplate bolts thatwas causing the racket at idle

Good deal! Was afraid that it might have been something else. Can't wait to see what it runs now that you corrected the tune...

^ Don't let him scare you Orr89RocZ, that red GTO isn't all that. Underneath Melissa's 20" cowl induction hood is Fred Flinstone pedaling his feet @ about 100-RPM, to the tune of Bed-Rock-City....

Thats just wrong LOL... Wendys is better than McD's too !!
As for payment.. True but its my Daily Driver all year that runs 11's FTW... I would have loved to get an older car(69-70's not the econo box 3rd gens with 197hp stock 305's<-- I'm going to get LOL) But I need it to start everyday and cant afford 2 cars just yet, house payments come before car mods..
Hey mine came with a neck snapping 170hp. 305 TBI. Chirped second gear around turns. Absolute garbage.
But hey I dont think the 1991 GTO made ANY hp!
I'd love to own a house. If I see any wendy's wrappers on the track, i'll know what car they "fell" out of.
and the car does not have much more Now......and You Got to like Still living with Mom and Dad.....with an IROC in the driveway next to the trailer....LOL....Frank

Whats going on with these caps? 6th finger not sure what to do?
Actually its a Rally Sport and my trailer could kick your GTO's ***! They weight the same!
